good news!!! fruit loops is a health food!!!

i saw a commercial last night showing how much fiber fruit loops and sugar pops (they called it corn pops) , and a few other similar cereals have & were beneficial for growing kids. Yes, don"t put away the glucosamine and metformin just yet. Love & Profits: FLATFERENGHI

Interesting FF, I don't think I saw that one yet. It's not surprising though I suppose. I like the commercial for those honey nut O's, that, because they contain a little oat fiber, are touted as a healthy breakfast, when they're loaded with sugar.

Many of those products it is really the milk that provides the majority of the nutrition. I like those chocolate drink mixes that they claim things like 'contains as much protein as 3 eggs!'. Well I know sugar doesn't contain protein, and I doubt the drink mix contains protein powder, so the only possible source is the milk.

I also like that one for that chocolately spread 'made with wholesome ingredients like hazelnuts and skim milk'. Haha why don't they mention that SUGAR IS THE #1 INGREDIENT IN THE PRODUCT!?!?

It's just insane FF.

Yes! That stupid commercial convinced my 13 y.o. that Nutella on toast is a healthy breakfast. I told her she could pour Hershey's syrup on a pop tart for the same nutritional value...and a lot less money...

Glad to know I should feed my daughter a heaping serving of sugar and artificial coloring to begin her day! I am sure this will start her off right... Oh thank you cereal company! How would I know what to feed my child if it wasn't for your propaganda... oops I mean advertisements…

I heard a show on the radio one time that said it is better to buy kids an unsweetened cereal type product such as just oatmeal or rice puffs or whatever those wheat biscuits are, and then just give them a bowl of sugar and let them add as much sugar as they want. This person was saying that in his informal studies, the amount of sugar the kids added themselves was less than what comes in the presweetened cereals.

Ahhh...bowls of sugar- breakfast of champions for sure!

My favorite by far are the commercials that claim how High Fructose Corn Syrup/Sugar is just as "healthy" as regular cane sugar...LOL... awesome!! :P

Sugar is sugar no doubt...How long did it take for them to figure this out?? But yet they are still condoning their "healthy" cereal. Give them a bowl of sugar with milk....it's sad how misinformed people are. I used to be one of those....I'm glad I seen the light. I'll go have my bacon, sausage and eggs now.

"Made with whole grain" seems to be the phrase I see most often. The fiber is 1.5g/ serving rather than just 1g/serving. Oh joy.

The one I saw yesterday was for lasagna. Two were saying the tomato/cheese was what made it great. The guy in the combine in the wheat field said it was the whole wheat pasta that made it healthy.

I stupidly bought some of this thinking it was good for you. Didn't read the label until I got it home. Good grief I think it has more sugar than Hershey's syrup.

Don't tell the schools. They already count ketchup as the 'required vegetable'. I'd hate to see them call Fruit Loops the 'required fruit'.

Actually them's "Froot Loops" as there is not enough (if any) actual fruit to warrant them having "fruit" in the name.

Does a bowl a day still keep the bullies away? If so, then I'd advocate eating it a lot more.

In other news, corn sugar does have its uses.

Well my brothers and I must not have been part of that study, as kids we frequently tried to sneak giant amounts of sugar into break cereal. Pretty much to the point where it was just piles of sugar hidden by a little milk.

The sad thing is even the unsweetened cereals are almost as bad as the sugar filled ones, just with a slightly lower blood sugar spike. So many bland breakfasts I could have skipped

And be sure to feed your children Frosted Mini Wheats before their big test at school!!
That's the ad with the mother marking important days on her calendar and the little miniwheat putting a reminder sticker on those days.

Yeah, just like canned ravioli are healthy for kids because "they have a whole serving of vegetables in them". (Cooked to death vegetables and chemicals/dyes cocktail that is ....)
