Question for chocolate eaters
If you include chocolate as part of your plan, what do you eat? Brand and amount and how often? Thanks!

I do…in the form of Cocoa powder in my refrigerator candy and in just about every diet candy I love; Russel Stovers Low Carb stuff (Turtles, peanut butter cups, mints etc) and Hershey low carb mini milk chocolate, and somebody's chocolate coated carmels and Chocolite Triple Chocolate Bars, and Atkin's Endulge bars (Cashew Nut chews and Chocolate Coconut). We buy/eat Breyers CarbSmart Chocolate Ice cream and frozen fudgesicle bars too. Oh yeah - there are the chocolate protein powder and the Wally-world sugar free Chocolate topping sauce too. Oh yeah - almost forgot the Emerald Dark Chocolate Cocoa-Roast coated almonds. At least 5 days a week, and a single serving of which ever I choose.

Lindt 85%, as needed. It usually only takes a square, which blew me away as I'd never (to my recollection) eaten only part of a chocolate bar.
:blush:ETA: Looked up the nutritional facts - 8 total carbs for four squares. Last edited by hippiegirl; 03-07-2011 at 05:23 PM.. |

Godiva 86% here. 1 square is all I need with maybe a little bit of natural pb spread on top. I use unsweetened cocoa in coconut bark and in my protein shakes. I don't eat the sf chocolate. The maltitol gives me issues.

I'm another one who, on occasion, eats the lindt 85%. Ive dipped it in peanut butter and a peanut butter-cream cheese spread.

I love dark but the 72%...yep more sugar/carbs.
I don't enjoy the 85% at all and that's not good. Chocolate should always be enjoyed. I do love the RS dark but will try just about any since it is not the greater part of my diet. |

My new favorite as I'm nut and dairy free right now is chocolate sorbet. It's so easy. Boil 2 cups water, take off the heat, stir in 8 ounces of unsweetened chocolate until melted, add 1/2 cup equivalent sweetener (preferably not splenda) a pinch of salt and a couple teaspoons of vanilla, whirl in blender, chill and churn in ice cream maker. I'm going to half this recipe and try it as a chocolate sauce. So yummy!!!

I'll eat anything that isn't nailed down
I usually eat .5 ounce of the dark stuff unless my carbs are high that day. Sometimes, I make my own by melting baking chocolate, Splenda and almonds. Recently, I've been replacing it with my clouds--but I always keep some on hand for busy days--love the caffeine! |

I use cocoa powder all the time (in drinks and LC candy like coconut bark). I also very occasionally (usually during TOM) have a bit of super dark chocolate. I like Green and Black or Lindt. There are other brands I have tried, too, but I have not seen them in the US.

I eat a small package of them almost everyday. I really like them. I mostly pick these instead of the natural because of the low sodium. There's a lot of difference.

Low carb specialties, choco perfection bars. I use their sweet perfection also. No intestinal problems with their sweetener. I was using the chocolate chips but now I see they have discontinued them.

I make Chocolate OMM all the time. I like Trader Joe's Cocoa or their baking chocolate.
As far as candy, occasionally I have Simply Lite Chocolate from Trader Joe's. It does have Sugar Alcohols so that keeps me honest about only having 2-3 pieces. 1 Bar will last me quite a long time. |
