Olive Garden does low carb now.
I just ordered the new entree on the menu: Grilled Chicken with cauliflower mashed potatos and broccoli. I asked the waitress to make sure it was really faux mashed. It was really good.

Olive Garden is one of those places I don't necessarily trust when it comes to food preparation. I'm not saying they definitely mislead you with nutritional and dietary information, but a lot of those mid-level chain places have kitchen practices they don't advertise or readily admit to.
Still, it's nice to know that if I get dragged there someday, they have something besides a Caesar salad for me to try. |

That's great news! My family likes to go there, but I've been vetoing it. Now I don't have to! I'll just make them compromise and tell them "no breadsticks at the table!" I'm sure they'll still be happy.

Ha, I still don't think I could make it. Don't laugh, but I would totally binge on the salad. I love their salad. I could eat 3 bowls myself. Screw the pasta, bring me more salad!

Chicken alfredo over broccoli no noodles. YUM!!!! I didn't know they made the cauliflower mashers. That's great. The salmon is good too. Haven't been to Houlihans in years but I used to eat the rosemary chicken with the cauliflower mashers.

The last time I went to Olive Garden was for the Never Ending Pasta Bowl:blush: My MIL went with us, even though she was low carbing. She got some kind of mixed grill plate and a double serving of grilled veggies - the veggies were zucchini and squash and looked and smelled delicious. Kind of made me want to push my pasta bowl aside and eat her meal.
I was actually kind of surprised by how many good LC options there were at Olive Garden. But it's nice to know that now you can get mashed cauliflower as well! |

Last time I was there I had a chicken marsalles or something like that. A big chicken breast with some kind of cheese sauce and seasoning on it and I subbed the regular side with asparagus and a big salad. This was in Kalamazoo, MI but that item was not on their online menu. (I was going to check it out to see how bad it was.) There may have been some carbs in the sauce that was on the chicken, but it must not have been too bad.
I will check out the new menue next time I go.

I'd be very suspicious because they are actually called "cauliflower-mashed potatoes" on the menu. I'm thinking they're mainly mashed potatoes with some cauliflower mixed in.
"New! Grilled Lemon-Herb Chicken Abruzzo-style grilled chicken breast in a lemon-herb broth, served with garlic broccoletti and cauliflower-mashed potatoes." |

I just went on their web site and the food that they do have nutritional info on, there is nothing on the menu I could even eat. Nothing.
The salad has 22g carbs for 1 serving. I wouldn't even go there based on what I just saw. All of their food looks carby. |

I don't go there because I live in a region with real Italian food. But there's plenty of things you can do to bring down the carbs. I ask for salads with no croutons, dressing on the side. Or I ask for un-breaded chicken, no pasta. Most places are cool with dietary restrictions and such.
