protected carbs?

Today, I found some pasta at the large grocery store chain that claimed to be low carb. I bought it, and read the box closer, and it has alot of carbs, but if you subtract fiber and "protected carbs" from it, it is a low-carb food.

Does anybody know anything about "protected carbs"?

I assume you are speaking of Dreamfields-just do a search here on LCF-many threads on Dreamfields. It simply has inulin added to it. I don't eat it because it has enriched wheat flour in it-flour that has been stripped of its nutrients and stuff added back it to compensate.

Hi ace…
We have been eating it 3-4 times a month for over 2 years, and I know I'm still a novice, and have only lost a few pounds, but it hasn't affected me negatively that I can discern.

I'm careful to follow the 1/2 dry serving size in prep and I don't overcook it (as instructed). Good stuff…

Very funny, Larry, calling yourself a novice. Someone who hasn't looked at your stats might believe that! LOL!

I can only eat Dreamfields once a week or it bloats me up. As long as you stick to the portion (and it isn't a lot) and don't overdo it ...then you should be fine....after you are out of Induction of course.

I'm the same as yvonne...I can only eat once in a week and even then I'll be up 1/2 lbs the next day. It goes away before the day is out tho...so you probably get why that is...please don't make me type it!

LOL,

Deanne
