Why did I gain 2 pounds!!!

I got on the scale this morning and I’ve gained 2 pounds!!! What the heck?

My diet is very low carb with no frankenfoods. Here is my full menu from yesterday:

Breakfast: 3 eggs, 4 pcs of hormone, antibiotic, and nitrate free bacon (3 carbs)

Lunch: Grilled Tuna Steak on 2 cups of lettuace with olive oil & acv dressing I make myself (under 5 carbs)

Dinner: Big grass fed steak (0 Carbs)

Snacks eaten at various times during the day: kippersnack (smoked herring, 0 carbs), coconut milk (1 carb), & coconut yogurt like drink sweetened with sugar free syrup (6 carbs), tea with 1 tbs of coconut oil, 2 tbs of vinegar.

I also did drink almost a whole liter of diet Dr. Pepper which I do regret as I didn’t drink as much water yesterday. And I was not active at all! Meaning almost being in bed most of the day or in front of the computer! But can that add up to a whole 2 pound gain???

Any ideas of what went wrong and what I can do to fix it?

hello,

been following your posts. this is one of the most common questions. i myself have asked it many times before. nothing you ate or drank yesterday will likely effect your weight today. it normally takes a few days to show up. you cannot physically gain two pounds of fat in a day...impossible. this is a fluid fluctuation or "water weight." Everybody experiences them everyday. most people's weight fluctuates up to 5 pounds in a weeks time. the more you hang around, the more you will see this question asked. this brings up the question of how much is actually healthy to weigh yourself....a whole different matter entirely. you will be back down in a day or two.

good luck.

Have seen that before on this diet. It is most likely water weight.

A whole 2 liter of pop in a day would definitely cause water weight gain for me.

Yeah I think you're right. I've been doing great till this morning. The real big change was drinking soda which I was off of. I was mainly drinking tea and maybe coffee once every other day, but thats it. I had a bad feeling about the soda, but did it anyway. I will have to leave it alone and see if that helps.

I am having the same thing, 2 pounds yesterday, 1 pound today. I assume it is water, but i was totally freaking out about it on the boards yesterday. It is SO unnerving.

I hope yours, and mine, goes away soon!

Any day that I don't hydrate "properly," by which I mean water, I have water weight gain the next day.

It is really not possible to gain 2 lbs of FAT overnight unless you had a gigantic binge, which would then just most likely be the weight of the food in your body!
