Instructions on how to add a ticker into your signature (pictures included!)

Remember.. to add a ticker into your signature you have to be a member for 25 days and have 25 posts.. If you have been a member for a year or more but haven't posted enough you can contact me to have me help you get it in for you.

The following are step by step instructions on how to add a ticker into your signature... You can do it two ways... Of course if you still have problems getting one into your signature spot you can always email me to help at cherilynn8@hotmail.com or contact the website.. We are always happy to help...

First of all go to the Graphical Tickers and Trackers: Weight Loss, Trying To Conceive, Pregnancy... to create your ticker (They have step by step instructions there on how to make them.. Once you have your finished ticker on the page you will need to either right click on it and save it to your computer in your picture folder or grab the addy they provide. They provide several but here is the one you should pick.. pick the one on the bottom (http://tickers.TickerFactory.com/ezt...FcN/weight.png) No need to save the img tags.

Now you are ready to add your Ticker..

Go to your user control panel and click on edit signature.. Go to the Edit Signature Box Here you want to add [SIGPIC][/SIGPIC] as in the following picture..

Next scroll down to the Signature Picture box.. Here you have two options.. Option one is adding the ticker with the http addy from the ticker site.. Option two is where you browse for your ticker if you saved it on your computer..

In option one add the http addy you get from the ticker factor site (it ends in png) As follows..

Then click Save Signature on the bottom of the page and it will add it to your signature..

In option two you will look for your ticker that you saved on your computer.. Click on browse.. find the ticker and click on the ticker so it highlights it..

and then click on open..

The ticker will go into the browse line as so..

Then click Save Signature..

It will add it to your signature spot..

I hope this helps...

Tip #1:

One thing I want to mention is the biggest error that people make is not having the [SIGPIC][/SIGPIC] in their signature box.. without that the ticker will not show up.

Tip #2:

If your ticker turns black like the one in the following picture it means you are copying the wrong addy to paste into option 1.. Make sure you pick the one that ends in png.. It is the second one..

Please read the first post in this thread which says "Remember.. to add a ticker into your signature you have to be a member for 60 days and have 60 posts."

Also, signatures are not available until you have 25 days AND 25 posts.

When you paste the ticker code here at LCF you will need to delete the http/www that is in the upload box, otherwise that is being added to the ticker code.

I just tried that and I keep getting the same message. I am typing [SIGPIC][/SIGPIC] and pasting the second url on the ticker page that ends in png.

You don't need to type anything in, just copy and paste into the upload box being sure to delete the http/www that is already in option 1 box.

Has something changed with the way the tickers operate on LCF? Years ago, we could go to the ticker site and update our stats each week and, with the code the way it used to be, our tickers would automatically update from the ticker website to LCF. It doesn't seem to work that way anymore. Do we now have to update the ticker each week at the ticker website and then copy the new code to LCF? They are meant to update automatically. I can't figure it out. Can someone help? Thank you.

As long as the ticker factory site gives you the same exact addy for the new ticker it should change for you automatically when you make the new one with the updated weight loss.. If it gives you a different addy then you have to put it in manually. I have seen others have this problem also and that is the only thing I can figure is happening.

Hi hun..

Your ticker was not going in because you have to be a member for 60 days.. you had been a member for 58 days.. If you try again it should work for you.. Let me know if you would like for me to add it for you and I will be happy to do that. It can be confusing.

Would you mind clarifying please? I don't know what I am missing here....

There are three boxes: bbCode, HTML, and ezCode.

Are you saying the second box? Or the second url address in the first box? I seem to have tried them all, and somehow my ticker still comes out black. I'm missing something fundamental. Thanks in advance!

The easy way to do it is to save the ticker on your computer by right clicking on it and then save it in your picture folder.. Or you right click on it.. then click on properties.. In the window that pops up it will have an http addy that ends in png.. That is the addy you need to put in.. not the codes that you scroll down too. If you need additional help you can always send me your ticker or the png addy of it and I will put it in for you.

Look over to the left <--------------- under your name in your information area, it says how many posts you have.

Yes, you can subscribe to the thread.. also remember that for a signature you need 60 posts and be a member for 60 days. but don't worry.. time will fly by pretty fast.. You will be enjoying the site and not realize how much time has past!

Here is a photo of where to subscribe to a thread.. on the top post of the thread you will see a list on the top right.. click on "Thread tools" and in the drop down menu you will see "Subscribe to this thread" .. click on that to subscribe. Please make sure that you accept emails from the site as well.. You can Edit Options in your user control panel..

I'm trying to add one myself. I follow what you say but I don't have that siggy pic option. I can have a siggy but don't have the offer to use a picture. yet I can insert a picture in this message if i wanted. I'm over the 60 posts can someone tell me what i've done wrong?

Hiya Cheri, me again. I now have the option to upload my own siggy or paste the url. Both of which work when I do it, however it turns up small and dark even thought I click large and light. Any suggestions? It doesn't matter which way i do it of the two ways you show.

I find it a lot easier and less of a problem to save the ticker in your picture folder and then upload it from your computer.. I put it in for you again.. Next time you want to change it try it that way and see if that helps.. but never hesitate to ask me to do it.. I don't mind helping at all!!
