Sams Club?

I am making a list to go to Sams Club on Thursday.

Are there any great finds for the Holidays?

Shoot me a list of things I shouldn't pass up.

They have big honkin bags of cheese cubes. That is one of my favorites. Also check out the big packages of fresh chicken drumsticks. We get those, season them up and freeze them in zip locks. They thaw really fast and go straight to the grill.

I buy the big bags of shredded cheddar cheese and the blocks of slices. I will have to check those out thanks. I love just thawing out things as needed and the chicken legs would work perfect.

Reva, shredded cheese has corn starch in it to keep it from sticking together, it's better to use block

I don't know about specialties for the Holidays but I usually stock up on:

-Frozen Tilapia
-Frozen Chicken Thighs (or breasts since thats what my family prefers)
-Frozen broccoli florets
-Frozen green beans
-Specialty cheeses
-Rotisserie chicken if I don't feel like cooking

ETA: They carry a pesto that I like, as well.

I have still never been to Sams or Costcos.

Are the prices that good, once you add in the membership fee? I see so many people going... I think I'm missing out and need to make a trip there soon!

I know some people...my son, friend, sister...who belong to Sam's and I go with them. They let me use their membership. As I write this, I'm thinking that I should buy them something when I go there. I'd rather do that than buy my own membership because there's so few things there that I can use...just the two of us to cook for...so the large quantities would just go to waste.

There are only 2 of us, I love Sams but it's not economical for us. We can get it a lot cheaper at Wally World.

The membership is only like $40 per year. There are only a few food items that we buy there. I think the real savings for us is on the non-food items like paper towels and toilet paper. We buy those things by the case and it is definitely cheaper.

Sam's is AWESOME!!! The one where I live now makes chicken salad in the fresh deli out of the rotisserie chickens, and man oh man is it YUMMY!!

If you have freezer space it's a great place to get fresh meats - divide them up and use it a little at the time. It's also a great place to stock up on non-perishables and things that don't spoil quickly like coffee. And their spices are awesome. Much, much cheaper than the grocery store. For stuff I use often like cinnamon and garlic, I've not had any problem with it getting stale before I can use it.

Highly recommend Sam's!! Enjoy!

I like Sam's Club for the definate savings over our local grocery stores (except Aldi Foods) and the fact that the fresh meats are better quality than what I find in my local Aldi Foods.

But we are also *just the two of us to cook for* so I reapportion the meats into better sizes and then pop the packages into the freezer. So I buy one HUGE chunk of pot roast meat and divvy it up into four sections. Then I have four chunks of meat for four roasts. Etc.

If you shop Sam's club on a fairly regular basis, you'll save far, far more than their annual membership fee. I have a business membership, and I think it is only $35 per year.

I also shop Aldi Foods weekly, and their prices are fabulously low compared to the other grocery stores here!!!!!

And if your Sam's has Land O Lakes cheese slices, you might want to try them. They beat Craft singles hands down. Our Sam's quit carrying them and I haven't found another decent brand. I now just buy sliced from the Wally deli. Not bad, but not Land O Lakes either.

Know what you mean. We have to take the 90 mile drive from P.B. to Cape to get to a Sam's. That's why we load up while we are there.

they have some delicious maranated pork loin roasts at mine, my favorite is the black pepper & portobello. I also like their dip selection, the applewood smoked bacon & cheddar and artichoke spinach dips are great w/ veggies.
