Looking for other LCers who...

Hey everyone Im returning to the LC way of life and the boards with a goal and a definite time line! Im getting married!

So I was wondering if there were any other LC brides out there....or grooms too! Im sure the men out there want to look sleek and sexy in a tux

But lets face it...I wanna look stunning in THE DRESS! Im 5 months out from the wedding and I realize IM RUNNIN OUT OF TIME!

I think 15-20 lbs would be ideal. I already have the gown and it ALMOST fits...zips all but 2 inches up....but in all honestly i want to lose more than just getting it to zip...i wanna have to have it taken in

I have been lacking in motivation for some time now...feeling busy and overwhelmed by a full time job and working part time in my own photography business and planning a wedding. But I have no more time for a lack of motivation...time to get it done!

Hello

Mind if I join your thread? I am not yet a bride to be, I guess you could say a fiance in waiting? Okay, still a girlfriend Ring is all picked out and he stole the mail key from me yesterday to better hide my Christmas presents coming in the mail. Maybe one is a ring? Can you send rings in the mail? I am on high alert I was thinking that perhaps a proposal would be going down in a couple months or so, but then it hit me that a LOT of people get engaged at Christmas. And THEN I though well if we get engaged then people are going to take pictures of me and I detest getting my picture taken, much less when I'm not at a weight I'm happy with. Truly loathe pictures. Blah.

So basically I'm picking up the pace on losing this weight for pictures that may or may not be taken on a date which I do not know

I think that 15-20 pounds is totally doable before your wedding. Should you calculate some of that time out in order to account for the time it would take to alter the dress?

I'm sorry but having a "goal and time line" for that goal is not what I would call a LC Way of LIfe. A LC Way of LIfe changes the way we eat for our health and well being and the resulting weight loss, fast or slow, is a by product of this Way of Life change.

I would call a plan that has a "goal and time line" for that goal a "diet" to get to a weight I want for a special reason, not something that is done for Life. A LC Way of Life is "for Life", not "sometimes".

I also realized this time around when I changed my mind set to this being my WOL/WOE for the REST of my life and NOT a diet it made all the difference in my motivation and keeping me "on track" all the time.

At least this is how I see it now and it's JMHO

Anyway, congrats and best of luck in your up coming marriage/life. Hope you reach your goal, too!

This thread reminds me of the buff brides show! By eating well during your planning also, you'll have less emotional upset possibly when things begin to get a little hairy!

Hoping for that ring for you CJ!!

Well, I was preggers at my wedding...whoops! But, at our 5 or 10 year anniversary, we'd like to renew our vows, so that does cross my mind sometimes when I want to go off plan. "Hmmm...wonder what I want to look like in THOSE photos...?".

Good luck, happy planning, and as Fawn said, take good and gentle care of you so that you can have a great day, and so that your life with your partner (ongoing) is full of great health and lots of fun.

I agree with Linda but sometimes people start off on this woe for the sole reason being to lose weight and then find 'other reasons' to stay on plan. It is good to think about, at least!

Beeb - Sorry that my statement seemed to bother you. What I simply meant that I definitely wanted to lose a certain amount of weight...and yes on a time line. When I said Way of life I most definitely meant a lifestyle change beyond the wedding. But the wedding is a very big motivating factor to get going and stay strong. Thank you for the well wishes.

Anyway, onto what I actually was looking for in responses:

JC: yes please join me!!!!! I know what it is like to wait girl....I waited 6 years for my ring before it came...totally worth it though! Im guessing you will want to feel good about yourself when the time comes though! Pending engagement is def great motivation!

Fawn: yeah i know that eating well (LCing) definetly makes me feel good/ more level headed. I would soooo love to be a buff bride. I Just started exercising and man am I out of shape!

MamaSage: I think a vow renewal is awesome especially for people who didnt get the wedding they wanted. Its another way to redo ceremony and the "party" I wish my parents would renew their vows...they didnt have a wedding.

jskn - Im really hoping for thin and beautiful! We are going to Hawaii for our honeymoon so that is also VERY motivating thanks for the well wishes!

Clacky - Linda IS right. I promise I understand m just very excited about it all you know? Very motivating!

Amy - you look amazing and how great of you to be going along with your bride friend - it is very motivating to have a supportive friend going it with you.

So Ive been very good. Lost 5 so far!
