Large frame, lots of muscle and an estimated 40 lbs worth of skin that needs to be removed which is adding extra weight but it squishes inside the clothes so that makes a difference too.

This is very interesting to me. I love trying to figure out weights/heights/builds.

I'm 5'6"(ish) and currently I'm 155.8 and wearing anywhere from an 8-11/12 - depending on the store. I'm a pear, and my jeans are 8-10 most of the time. Aeropostale I wear 11/12 in their jeans. Not tight, just right . At Kohls I wear an 11 Jr.s or 8 in Levis. Shirt, M or 8/10.

I'm 5' 6", 152.1 lbs

Size 10 jeans, but they fit weird because I'm an exaggerated pear. If the waist is perfect, the hips are too tight and makes me look like I have a muffin-top when it's really just loose skin. My waist is disproportionately smaller. If the fatty pouch would GO AWAY, I'd have a decent hourglass shape. Damned "sand" is all in the bottom though.

Men's t-shirt Medium because of my tummy.
Above the waist, I'm a Men's t-shirt Small.

Women's dress shirt Medium for the same reason.

(The shirt is a men's size 15 1/2 - 32 and it is overlapped so much that the left pocket is now in the very center. Before, I couldn't button the bottom 3 buttons over my tummy. The remaining fat pouch can be seen here, but I couldn't pull the back of the shirt against my back AND my tummy AND take the photo.)

Quay.jpg

ETA:

New pants I'd JUST bought. Size 10, "modern fit" (sit just below belly button). 2 lbs later and THIS is how they fit.
You can see how much different my waist is compared to my lower abdomen here. (Hello, ribs !!! We've been strangers for a LOOOOOONG time.)

Pants 2 lbs later.jpg

I think it just depends on how you carry your weight. Some close to my height and weight are already in a size 8. Makes me want to get the Electrolux and do some DIY liposuction.

I'm soooo jealous !!! (But, really I'm happy for THEM !!!! I honestly am ! I just want to be there toooooo !!! Waaaaaaaaah !!!)

I have a lot of different jeans now. My favs are of course my Levis. Those are just plain ole mens 501s. I wear about a 32x34 to a 36. I have long legs.

I also have a really nice pair of Kenneth Coles I got at Marshals. They are low rise and boot cut. They are also really long. I wear them with my boots that have about a 3 inch heel.

I just recently bought a pair of Lees slimming something or others in 'longs'. Those are a 10 and fit great. They come just below my belly button which is what I prefer. I will be getting another pair of these. I got them on sale an JC Penneys. Around $30, great for the price.

Sheryl Crow has a line of jeans at Dillards, Boothill Trading Co, I love those too. They are spendy at $70. I found those with help from the 'denim specialist' which I never knew existed. But let me tell you, the girl knew her stuff and was amazing. She helped me find every pair of 'longs' in the store. They are so long I'm thinking about getting them hemmed. Something I have never done before. I tried to wear them with my cowboy boots but have a broken toe and couldn't. Once it's healed I will see if they work with those boots.

I am tall but curvy. I have hips and a very defined waist. I also don't like very tight jeans. I don't like them baggie either. I usually iron all of my jeans but my Levis. My Levis are my 'work' jeans.

I'm also 46.

I hope this helps

It's a mind thing. LOL..I wasn't fooled. I'm a thrift store shopper and buy designer duds in a 6 from there, then head on over to Sears and fit in a 12 or I did. Lord only knows what I wear now. I have resorted to Chico's size 3 on top and 2 on bottom, whatever that is. They have lots of wearing room.
I totally agree with this!

I'm 5'8, 160 lbs and size 12-14.

I always find it amazing how small the sizes are for others. I guess I have a larger frame/harder fit for clothes. I have never been smaller than 10...even when I was 129! (but I think sizes were smaller bc I have some very old 12 jeans that are no where near fitting me.)

Yes it is amazing how some others wear smaller sizes, that is just so interesting. Yes it must have to do with frame size I think.

and where we carry weight. Like for me I carry weight everywhere. So when I was at my highest, I was just over 200 and in a 14 maybe a 16. I carry weight in my legs, hips, butt, arms, bust, face, etc. So I was proportionaly fat everywhere. I was not like my best friend who no matter he weight has the most killer legs and slim arms

So when I loose it comes off similarly. So even though my weigh is still high, im in a smaller size I guess. My frame is what I would consider normal/average. Ive never beleived the wrap your fingers around your wrist test. When I was 200+ I could barley touch the tips of my fingers round my wrist, now I can comforatably do it and overlap fingers now. Same with the tape measure thingy.

I think its amazing just how individual each and everyone of our bodies are!!! I think its great to celebrate just how different and individual we each are!

very interesting!

I'm 5' 6", 155lbs and right between a US size 8 and 10. I can put my GAP size 8 jeans on easy enough, but they're still slightly too tight.

As I started out in June at a US size 12 / 14 it is maddening - all of my clothes are either way too big or slightly too small (my pre weight-gain clothes), and I don't want to buy any interim stuff, so I live in the one pair of jeans that fits

I know I'm going to be a bit odd here...I am 5'7'', weigh 205.5 pounds, and wear a size 14, which is getting too big. I am ALMOST in my 12s.

I have very thin legs and small hips/thighs. I am also VERY muscular (I run and weight lift) and large framed. I assume that accounts for my small size. And yes, I have tried clothes from many different brands, and 14/12 works for them all.

Top size is L. Used to be Xl or bigger but even the twins have shrunk LOL!

I just got myself size 20 jeans. Hooray!! 5'7" I'm guessing 230ish. I've got that big belly thing goin' on and sometimes ponder if it will ever go away completly. I Really want to be in the single digit sizes. I am starting to feel better and would like to go to...a gym...to workout. ? Did I really just say that? ! Smirk.

I recently got a pair of these Lee's Instantly Slimming at Walmart (I think for $18) and love them. Two other awsome jeans for cheap that i found was the Rider's by Lee Slender Stretch and Jordash skinny bootcut- both fit great and really keep their shape. I work with kids, so I need jeans that 1)cheap- I go through so many 2)stay up and don't creep near the butt when getting up and done off the floor, 3)wash up easily
