I am all over the place.

Currently weighing 161. I'm 5'5ish. 63yrs old, and age changes body too.
Lowest adult weight was 119, many moons ago. I'd like to get to 140ish.

In pants, down from mostly 14s and a few 16s in March to mostly 12s, a few 10s and a few 14s. Wish I had kept more of my fav jeans. But not my 16s, they are all gone to Goodwill.

Tops down from some XLs to mostly Lgs and some Meds (I hung on to some of my fav medium tops).

I recently fit into a size 8 Dana Buchman blazer, but that's a joke, size-wise. I did buy it, though, as it was a super bargain, and good color and fit.

New clothes are a big investment, so I am taking it slowly.

Wow, its weird how we all vary huh? I am a mom of 3 and carry most of my weight in middle butt and thighs it seems. I weigh 135 5'4, tops sz M, jeans depends on brands sz 6 to sz 8 (no stretch in them). Can no longer wear my wedding band or diamonds at all. They just fall right off.

I am so with ya girl, I am a hip and thigh girl! That's why this thread can depress me sometimes to see someone about 30 pounds more than me only one size bigger than me??? Vanity sizing I guess?? LOL!

But vanity sizing would apply to all of us...not just those of us at bigger sizes.

I think it is how we are built.

Yes, build. Genetics, frame size, and musculature all play a part in how we carry our weight.

Don't forget that muscle is denser than fat, so a 150 lb woman who has 125 lbs of LBM will look very different (and smaller) than a woman the same height and weight with 100 lbs of LBM.

Check out this story: Meet Staci: Your New Powerlifting Super Hero | Nerd Fitness She worked to change her body composition, and as a result is now smaller at a higher weight.

That's why I'm doing my best to retain every bit of my current LBM as I lose the excess fat.

Thanks for the article! Very interesting to read...I have that distorted image thing going on so I have a hard time seeing the "real" me. I think a lot of us here have that. I think each and everyone of has worked so hard and done a great job! I know we are all built different I just have to remember that when looking at this thread! Thanks again for the article, You have such valuable info girl!

I was not saying that to rule out just one size. Would never do that. I think everyone has worked too hard to get where they are and everyone should be proud!

So true! I have a hard time looking in the mirror and feeling good about what I see. I tend to focus on the scale and the size of my pants to make myself realize what I have accomplished.

5'9" weighed 182 at my last Dr. appt. I wear a size 12. When I used to be a regular here I went from 172 to 147 and size 10 to a size 8. That weight loss required constant, non-stop work and maintenance. My entire life revolved around my eating habits and execise. The second I started eating again I gained it all back plus.

I'm 5'5" and hovering around 205 lbs., I'm usually between a size 14 and 16 bottoms depending on the brand and an XL on top (which is sometimes even too small, depending on the brand).

I'm 5'7" and at 218 right now (still a long way from my goal weight). I'm in size 18 jeans right now, and I just managed to squeeze into them a couple of weeks ago. I carry my weight mostly in my middle, which I absolutely hate; while my butt, chest, and legs have been shrinking. The shrinking butt has done one good thing for me, though. It's motivating me to exercise and tone up things back there. Same goes for my thighs.

I have no idea what size I am. It totally depends on the store and the brand! When I was in my 20's back in the 1970's sizes were pretty regular from brand to brand. I weighed about 125 and wore a 10 or sometimes an 8, usually a medium. In those days a 6 or 4 was very tiny, and you rarely saw a 2 and never a 0. And a "small" was very small. My mom was 5'3" and about 110 pounds. SHE wore a 6 or 4, and smalls.

Fast forward to now: lots of vanity sizes out there, as previously mentioned. So I'm 5'7" and currently weigh 150, 34DD, and I generally wear a 10, sometimes an 8, mostly mediums but depending on a style, occasionally a large. Occasionally a small. Go figure....I have to try virtually everything on to see what size I am in that particular item of clothing.
