Anyone tried Vita Muffins? From Vitalicious?
I'd like to hear from anyone who has tried these and how you figure the NET carbs, it is very confusing, sugar, sugar alchohol, what do you subtract to get the NET carbs?? I wish manufactures would list NET carbs on their products! Thanks

I used to eat these back in my WW days, and they were tasty. They don't fit into my LC plan though.
Here is the basic way to calculate net carbs: Carbs Grams - Fiber Grams= net carbs Here is the Banana Vita Top Calc: 22carbs - 8gr fiber = 14 net carbs This Vita Top did'nt have sugar alcohols, but some LC products do. Some people also deduct sugar alcs so that would be: Carbs - fiber - sugar alc = net There are several schools of thought on this. It is a "your mileage may vary" kind of thing. Good luck! Sugar-Free/Low-Carb Banana Nut VitaTops
this one is 6g net carbs, if you're into subtracting sugar alcohols. |

they DO usually list net carbs on these things with sugar alcohols, which is why they cause so much grief. they subtract all the sugar alcohols and glycerin, which makes them seem not so carby. but for many of us, most sugar alcohols raise our insulin levels and blood sugar just like sugar, or partly as much, so they need to be counted. or preferably avoided, since they cause a lot of diarrhea as well. xylitol and erythritol are usually ok on both counts, though you will rarely see them in low carb baked goods unless you make them yourself.
flax muffins are so quick, easy, and good, it's really not necessary to buy this sort of thing

LOL, yes....I seiously was ADDICTED to the chocolate Vitatops in my WW days. And even after my WW days. But what I would do was nuke them for 30 seconds (sometimes 2 or more vitatops at a time
) and then top them with GOBS of peanut butter.Let's just say that when you eat too many of those things, it can become a problem. As in they have LOTS of fiber. Oh yeah, they tasted good to me at the time. But now I wouldn't eat those processed flattened muffin tops for anything. And becuse Hungry Girl recommends them, it is all the more reason why I don't eat them.

they're delicious
i either: - defrost it in the fridge and then toast it so the outside is a bit "crisp/dry" and the inside is moist - defrost it in the fridge, then slather on some almond butter, then drizzle on some macadamia butter :P |

You can make 2 large or 4 regular almond/flax meal mims(muffins in a minute) any flavor, for under 7 net carbs and the only sugar alcohol is splenda...if it's liquid splenda or davinci's, they have no carb count...hmm 4 regular size muffins versus 1 muffin top...I know what I'd go with.

Has anyone tried the banana with chocolate chips? Curious about that flavor. i loved their cornbread
but can't get them local so hate to order a boatload and have them around Schmabby, does your Target carry them? mine carries a few flavors for 3.99. Iterry, thanks for the suggestion I don't like having ingredients around because I'll eat way more than if I just buy a finished product when it comes this sort of thing. I just don't have the willpower once I see a new recipe posted. LOL. I want it NoW!![]() |

I did not like the banana with chocolate chip one. The chocolate chocolate chip one is really the only one I like. I admit, it does not compare to a Ghiradadelli (sp?) brownie, but it hits the spot especially with the melted peanut butter on top. To me at least.
