One minute muffin stall?

Does the one minute muffin stall you? This morning I wanted something different so popped one in the microwave and just now I entered the ingredients into Fit day and I am SHOCKED how many calories, fat etc in it! I know that the carbs pretty much balance because of the fiber count...but I just wondered if people are able to eat these and still lose. What if you have under 30 pounds to lose? TIA

They don't stall me. Also, I don't count calories, so the calories do not bother me. This is a meal for me. Not a snack. So I'm not bothered by the calories. It works out to be about the same number of calories if I made eggs and bacon or some other type of dish. Also slow loss does not bother me so I think its just one of those things that YMMV.

I don't have a minute muffin all that much maybe once or twice a week. I never had a stall from it, but maybe if you ate to many.

I count calories and carbs ... and I eat **one** daily. I also have altered it to lower the calorie count to 250. I could eat more if I compensated elsewhere ..

I do see people "stall" on things like this and think to myself " Calories!". If you have not had to think about calories in your weightloss, I would not start unless you find you do indeed tend to level off at a certain food intake ..

I asked this in another post and didn't get an answer. Thanks for posting.

I stalled then GAINED 2 lbs by eating one per day. I haven't eaten one in four days and I'm still passing flax seeds. (Sorry. Not being gross...)

Hmmm... I eat my OMM as a meal as well. It's very filling. My calories are usually not really high. I add them up sometimes, but I don't limit myself. (I haven't gone over the recommended allowance according to the government. And, no, I don't rely on what they (as in the U.S. Dept. of They) tell me I should be eating. Was just saying...)

I wonder if I'm holding a lot of water in that fiber. I've been drinking quite a bit because I was worried about it bulking and causing BAD problems.

I eat my "one minute muffin" in the morning for breakfast so my body can use the the carbs as fuel all day long. I haven't see a stall in my weight loss. I alternate my muffin days with egg & meat days. Just like my WOE I alternate veggie days with protein days. Hmm works for me most of the time.

I take that back, I stall from time to time usually about every 5-7 lbs I stall for a week, it keeps going like that. I'm not to worried about it though, I know somthing is happing deep with in my melting core.

They don't seem to stall me, but I've sworn off of them for now as I'm trying to do the meat/egg thing.

I can't eat them. I have to watch calories as well as carbs, and those muffins are too many calories or too little food for me. I found myself too hungry, too soon as well.

What works for some people just won't work for others.

That's very true. Induction's max carbs is too much for me. I'll lose if I drop to 10g or below though. Just glad I'm finding out what DOES work for me. FINALLY.

I am pretty sure that one recipe of OMM are 2 servings. Could this be the problem?

Hmmm...

This is the recipe I've been using:

Muffin in a Minute (suitable for Induction)

Serving Size: 1

1/4 cup flax meal
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 packet splenda packet
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 large egg
1 teaspoon butter (I use 1 Tbsp.)

Put the dry ingredients in a coffee mug. Or a bowl for a different shape.

Stir.

Then add the egg and the butter. Mix.

Microwave 1 minute (or more). Take out. slice, butter, eat. Set mug to soak immediately.

Cream cheese would go nicely, too.

Notes: 1.5 net carbs.

Per serving: 235 Calories; 18g Fat (63% calories from fat); 12g Protein; 11g Carbohydrate; 9.5 g. fiber; 223mg Cholesterol; 284mg Sodium

at least a few people here think that any possible thing stalls them, you know what I mean? we are so individual. I have eaten these every morning for the last 80 lb I've lost. I add whey protein isolate to up the protein and grated summer squash to make them moister, but essentially the same thing.

Flax bloats me. I think I'm very sensitive to it. Too bad because I would eat those every single day if I could.

When I figured the calories for the 1MM I got 315. Just figuring the ingredients.

That sounds about right! I tweaked mine some and I bake them in a batch of 12. Without eggs, and in a quantity of 12, I have honed them down to 250 calories each.

Nope, no from flax here.
When I eat them they are my entire breakfast, so I don't consider around 300 calories for a meal high at all!

Sure! I just made a batch, lol!

Pauline's Vegan Flax Muffins - makes 12

Dry Ingredients:
3 cups ground flax
3/4 cup oat fiber
2 t. baking powder
2 t. baking soda
3 T. cinnamon

Wet ingredients
3/4 cup coconut oil
1 t. liquid splenda (or: 48 drops)
2 1/2 cups boiling water

Other items
Pam Spray
12 muffin pan
glass measuring cup

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Grease the muffin tin with pam spray (for ease of use!). Set water to boil in your kettle.

Measure out all the dry ingredients into a large bowl. Mix well and put it aside.

Measure the 3/4 cup of coconut oil out into a glass measuring cup. If it is not liquid, place in the microwave in 45 second intervals until liquid. Once this is done, add the liquid splenda to the coconut oil. Pour the liquid into the dry mixture. Before you mix, quickly add the 2 1/2 cups of boiling water to the bowl.

Mix very well! Use the mixture to fill the muffin tin and place in the oven (400 degrees) for 15 minutes. Once cooled, the muffins will slip right out! The muffin texture is more moist than the traditional minute muffin, somewhere between the minute muffin and a brownie!

Pauline
