Heavy cream???
Hi Everyone,
![]() I started the low-carb plan a little over a month ago - I think I have read most of the plans out there, I'm basically going with the Atkins plan, but decided to kind of do my own thing with it... I'm sure thats probably not the best method but for me it seems to be working.I'm just reducing my carb intake and cutting out all/most fried foods. I think on a daily basis before I started the plan my daily carb intake would be 200g+. I'm now doing 20-30g a day. All in all it hasn't been as bad as I thought it would be - and I can see myself doing this the rest of my life... I feel better and I am losing weight. One question that I do have if anyone can help me with (I have looked through the other post, but none really answer the question)... - I recently bought some Carbquick mix from Netrition.com and many of the receipes call for "heavy cream"? what exaclty is that? What I'm finding on-line is milk and butter - but milk has more carbs than I want to use... other post say that the heavy cream is carb free or low carb??? I'm confussed - I dont see it at the store - where can I buy it and who makes it? or How can I make it low carb? Thanks for this great site - many fantastic stories, comments and suggestions! I'm sure I will be in here alot! |

It is labeled as heavy whipping cream and is in the dairy section of your grocery, Target, Walmart and many gas stations and convenience stores carry it as well. It does have carbs-USDA labeling laws state that a product with under .6 carbs can be labeled as zero and .9 and under can be labeled as <1. Use a food tracker like ******.com to help you track your carbs.

Heavy Whipping Cream almost every store carries it in the dairy case the good stuff with just cream in it cost 5-6$ per quart.
Lisa that is what I get for opening a bunch of tab and taking so long to read.lol Last edited by tybeeanna; 10-19-2010 at 07:15 AM.. |

I've even found it at the Dollar Tree. You should be able to find it. I've never seen a grocery store that didn't have it. I'd ask if you can't find it. Someone will know what you are talking about.
