Hello, I'm back--35 pounds heavier
Hello Everyone,
I haven't been here since last August, and since that time with my "no forbidden" foods approach, I am 35 pounds heavier .But I'm not down. In fact, I re-started today, and I feel motivated--back on track. I have 60 pounds to lose, and I'm going to do my best to lose it! BigGreen |

I think most of us can probably empathise with having goine off track, for whatever reason, to return with some additional 'upholstery'. It won't be long before you're back in the groove
- welcome back |

Thank you for all the well-wishes. They really mean a lot to me. In addition to going back on Atkins, I had my thyroid tested, and it was a little bit underactive (hypothryoid).
My doctor prescribed 88 mcg of Synthroid. I know you shouldn't do this , but I've been measuring my blood sugar for a while with the household glucometer (fancy name for "sugar machine"), and I have not been tolerating starches (simple carbs) well at all. So, I started taking 500 mg. of Metformin twice a day to see if it would help with the ravenous hunger that didn't go away for me even when in ketosis the last time I was on Atkins. (I am in no way saying to follow my example; I am just sharing). At any rate, with the combination of a strict induction and the Metformin, my blood sugar has been very good (never above 117--even after eating). Oh by the way I'll let you all know how it goes unless . . . ![]() BigGreen |
