When I want chocolate, I buy a Green & Black's 72% Dark Baking Bar. Minimal sugar (I don't eat malitol, it makes me sick). It has less sugar, and a higher cocoa butter content for better melting (in your mouth, lol). I am usually happy with the 3 pieces serving because it's fairly luscious and melts in your mouth. I have also used it to make coconut fat bombs. Here's the label info:

I second this one - not just Green & Black (although I'm sure it's a great chocolate) - any good quality, european-style dark chocolate is good. I find eating the real thing nips the craving in the bud, and most 71% chocolate is around 1.5 carbs per piece.

If you really want to avoid eating sugar, I'd also recommend making a fat bomb of coconut oil blended with dark cocoa powder (Aunt Patty's & Trader Joes are both good brands) with your favorite sweetener. My favorite way to do it is to add 1 TB peanut or almond butter to the mix - something about the nut butter results in a more pleasing mouth feel.

I am currently glaring at my freezer telling it to freeze my double batch of fat bombs faster because I want one.
I made lemon cream cheese fat bombs and choc peanut fat bombs

I love these things.

I use equal parts(maybe 2 Tbs of each?) softened cream cheese, softened butter and melted coconut oil(I help them in the microwave if they are out of the refrigerator)Beat together.Add a squirt of lemon juice, a little splash of lemon essence and sweetener to taste(I use stevia/erythritol drops)Stir then freeze spoonfuls until hard.

If you want 'soft candies' store in the fridge if you want 'frozen cheesecakes' store in the freezer.

WOE: LC my way
Start Date: Feb, 2013
I never had much of a sweet tooth, in fact almost no sweet tooth. I would give up dessert for a second helping at dinner with no regrets. But now a couple months into LC eating, I find myself with a bit of a sweet tooth, nothing big or overwhelming, just the presence of something that was not there before.

I think this might be because I was eating so many carbs, my body was getting it's share of sugar in the conversion of carbs to sugar in my system. Anyone else experience this?

Anyway, I read this thread yesterday, and today when I was at Trader Joe's, on a couple of posters' rec, I bought some Simply Lite dark chocolate with almonds. OMG, they are SOOOOOOO good. And they're perfect for me as I'm not a sweets binger. One square and I'm happy---about 2 carbs a square.

I'm also loving "cream sodas." Been doing Tangerine and root beer, and today I picked up some Hanson's black cherry and can't wait to try it.

I bought one of these right before Christmas and after a few days of having a little square every day, had to throw it out. It tasted great, but gave me nasty issues that I couldn't deal with.

3T of coconut oil

Lindt 85 or 90 percent. 'Normal' people, hehe, think they are nasty. When you are free of sugar, they are sweet and delicious !

I take magnesium! It works for chocolate cravings, if none of the above suggestions are working for ya

I used to be a chocolate fanatic, esp around PMS time but not so much anymore.. not that I don't enjoy it every once in a while.

But the magnesium works, try it!
It works because chocolate cravings are a sign of magnesium deficiency.
