Russell Stover Chocolate

I ordered the Russel Stover chocolate combo pack and it arrived today.
Net Carb Variety Pack from Russell Stover's Low Carb Chocolate Collection.

The chocolates have a net carb of about .2 to .8 on average per piece. I have to admit I was getting a little chocolate crazy and I had a few of these and it really made my day. I still don't want to eat to much of it. I feel guilty eating it too. Has anyone else tried these?

Beware of these if you eat too many-you will be perched on the porcelain throne and not be fit to go out in public if you have too many due to the maltitol.

They are so good, and they so stall me out! I can't get near them any more!

Lay in a good supply of TP. If you ate that many already, I'd be surprised if you didn't know why now.

they have to be made with something that creates the bulk of the candy though... Splenda plus what else?

Some people do fine with them. Personally, I don't subtract sugar alcohols from total carbs except for erythritol and xylitol. Those don't cause my blood sugar to make a peep, and don't make me run to the bathroom either...

Hi gusty…
Yes, and we have several Russell Stover low carb selections in ziplocks in the fridge. I love the coconut with dark chocolate ones, and probably have a couple every other week for a late night snack.

They have never affected me adversely, but I don't abuse them either. Three at a time would be my limit (too rich otherwise).

I like their Peanut Butter Cups, Coconut/Dark Chocolate (like Peter Paul Mounds), Truffles, and the Pecan Clusters. They are a really nice treat every once in a great while.

I’m apparently not reactive (physically) to sugar alcohols, nor mentally sensitive to the fact they are ''candy''. They have never created cravings nor guilt for me either.

Over half of the supply we laid in last summer are still living in our vegetable bin. I’ve probably had a couple dozen pieces in the last 10 months.

Oh man, I wish!!! But they say "made with Splenda" on the front of the pack, while maltitol is still listed in the ingredients on the back. 1 peanut butter cup wrecked me for a whole weekend last time I tried them and I haven't been brave enough to retest.

I just got the new RS sf snack bars from Netrition, I haven't tried one yet to see how it affects me. I thought they would be good to keep in my backpack for a quick snack when we're out walking...maybe better try them at home first:blush:.

I know this feeling all too well! I learned the hard way with the 'Sweethearts' made with Splenda, a few years ago...found out that Sorbitol and I don't get along. I do ok with the RS, though (thankfully - I'm a chocolate person!).

Have a good weekend!!

I can get the smaller 2-serving sized bags (about 6 or 8 pieces in the whole bag) locally so if I'm desparate for chocolate (predictably, about once every other month) I'll get one bag of those. I usually polish it off in 2 days (if I bought the bigger bag or multiple bags, I'd polish that off in 2 days as well LOL)

I eat unsweetened chocolate. I haven't found an AS that works for me.

i could not have a boxful in the house.

that would really be asking for it. they have smaller packs in some of the pharmacies, like rite-aid, and walmart, and the supermarkets. But, i am not interested in that sort of thing right now. No Frankenfoods for me for a while. Love & Profits: FLATFERENGHI

I have a weakness for the coconut ones and they make me "go" a lot. I have to stay away from them.
