Low Carb Beer Counts
I did a quick little research on beers low in carbs for someone in another thread and just wanted to pass the info on to you all in a quick, easy little list.
Top 7 Low Carb Beers That You Can Drink On A Low Carbohydrate Diet 1. Michelob Ultra – 2.6 carbs (one of the best and most well known low carb brews) 2. Miller Lite – 3.2 carbs (this one often surprises people, as it’s one of the top beers already) 3. Rock Green Light – 2.6 carbs 4. Coors Light – 5 carbs (not as low, but still not terrible compared to others. Just watch portions) 5. Corona Light – 5 carbs (again, not exactly the lowest, but certainly not high. Portion control is key) 6. Aspen Edge – 2.6 carbs (not familiar with this beer at all, but if you are, great low carb option here) 7. Amstel Light – 5 carbs (not bad, but watch portions on this one as well) Additionally Budwiser Select has 99 calories and 3.1g carbs. Budwiser Select 55 has 55 calories and 1.9 g carbs. Drink responsibly ![]() ![]() |

Thanks, MsWoods
Hubby switched from IPAs to Amstel Light when he began moderate LC, four years after I started VLC. It was a taste adjustment at first, but now he likes it. |

I prefer, in no particular order, Amstel Light, Corona Light, and Miller Lite. I've tried all the other ones and most taste like water to me, or have an odd "whang" to them. JMHO of course!

I had a Samuel Adams light, beware if memory serves me correctly they are like 9.5 g a pop. Michelob Ultra comes in the Amber now, a little fuller flavor.

Miller Lite will always be my beer but, you just cant beat MGD 64, with 64 calories and 2.4 carbs! Plus, Bud Select 55 tastes like water with foam in it... YUCK!

I usually buy (always buy) Miller Lite. Michelob Ultra is nasty, and I haven't tried most of the others listed. Not very adventurous with my beer. Don't like darker brews, anyway. Is there anything better than an ice cold brew from a bottle when you're thirsty? The answer is: NO.

i drink the closest thing i can get to water. so i like ultra or 55. (if i cant get wild turkey!)
if you had 5 bud selects a day, which is only 10 carbs, and that was the only carbs you had for the day, (sticking with meat, etc) do you think you could still lose weight or would you gain?? |

My husband works for Miller...so it is always Miller Lite in our house! MGD 64 is okay too. However, I will say that I am primarily a wine drinker.

here in Canada we have a low carb beer my dh likes & buys when he's in a beer mood that's only 2.5 carbs per bottle. it's apparently quite good and we've had non-low carbing guests & family drink it and enjoy it.
it's called President's Choice Low Carb Beer for any of my fellow canucks ![]() |

Carbs in Negra Modelo?
I've been looking for the total carbs in Negra Modelo with no success. The
info on the Modelo nutrition page shows none, but this is obviously wrong. I even purchased "The Drink Beer, Get Thin Diet" book because they promised the carb counts of all beers. It wasn't in there and the book was worthless. It is a dark Mexican beer fairly popular in the southwest. Anyone have an answer? I est about 15 carbs per based on comparisons with other dark beers. No matter the carb count, I'm going to continue having my two beers with my Mexican food twice a month. |

Does anyone know of any *good* microbrews that are LC? I also enjoy Belgian beers. I'm sure a tripel ale is NOT LC lol.

Was a Miller Lite girl for years, but switched to Michelob Ultra a while back. Love them both. Had a really cold Mich Ultra last weekend and it tasted so good.
