Trying something kinda fun

I'm on long-term maintenance. I gained 6 over the holidays, and haven't really bothered to get it off.

Early last week, I decided to crack down, but I felt like entertaining myself with something different.

So...Atkins with a twist. I'm allowing myself 2 LC tortillas and a serving of Dreamfields each day. I made "lasagna in a bowl" with Italian sausage, mac 'n cheese, egg taquitos, real restaurant fajitas, and real quesadillas with sour cream and guacamole. I'm also eating LC yogurt.

Sound evil? The 6 pounds is GONE!

Warning: YMMV

It's weird, I'm in ketosis. My breath would kill a skunk.

I've had the tortillas and Dreamfields (don't overcook, you'll ruin the LC qualities), and also a few Russell Stovers Easter eggs. If you count my carbs, it's still pretty low, though.

I'll report back on how I'm losing. I'm absolutely in ketosis. Mentally, the tortillas and pasta are a big help. This might even be ok for OWL.

What do you usually have, Lynda? I am in awe because you've been LCing so long.

I've fallen off the wagon a million times.

Most of the time I eat "caveman" style, with very few processed foods.

I've gotten depressed (or just sick of healthy food) and eaten a quart of regular ice cream or a whole bag of candy. I've gone to parties and eaten chips and dip. I've eaten horrifically for weeks at a time. I envy people like Fawn.

The trick to low carbing and eating right is simple. LEARN TO FORGIVE YOURSELF. We can't all be perfect all the time.

I've learned to forget about it in 5 minutes if I eat crappy foods. I just move on! We tend to get a mindset that we've failed, which leads to sadness, depression, and giving up.

The *most* true thing ever said on this board is, "it's not a sprint, it's a marathon".

I'm down another 2. Happy Dance!

I'm measuring the Dreamfields, but the serving is plenty. I'm careful not to overcook it, I do it just exactly as the box says. Last night I had a pork chop, broccoli and cheese, and a little pasta salad with finely chopped veggies and Wishbone Italian Dressing (dry type you mix yourself that comes in a foil pouch, yummers). I had a partly-frozen Carbmaster yogurt for dessert.

I know this is crackhead, but I LIKED THE WAY MY MEAL LOOKED. Silly girl, liking the way my carb substitutes looked.

I got up this morning and had my omelet with no tortilla. I knew it was there, I just didn't care about it.

We are funny creatures.
