Round 2: A Different monster!
Hey everyone.
Ive been reading for a while and finally a member. Well i think i was a member a while back. I first tried LC about 12 years ago and didnt make it past day 3 when i got sicker than holy heck. At the time, there wasnt a lot of talk about the initial flu like symptoms and thought it was making me sick, lol. I tried it a few years later, the initial flu symptoms were not near as bad, but still there. I lost a ton of weight. It was easy to stick with because of how fast you would lose weight. I kept it off for a good while but of course i took off a holiday season, thanksgiving to christmas, and of course never returned. carbs are like crack i think! So i gained an extra 10% and decided now to return. After 5 years now, I went back to induction 6 or 7 weeks ago. This has been a totally different monster. TOTALLY different. I never got the flu like symptoms at all this time! Good i guess. But instead of losing 4+ pounds a week, im losing hardly nothing. I lost about 5 or 10 pounds the first 2 weeks and have lost really nothing since. I know there are stalls but not right out of the gate, i wasnt ready for not losing when you put in so much effort. I keep going over everything that im doing different and i cant find anything. Im sure there is something im doing that if i eliminated it, it would help a lot. Like diet crack, i mean, diet coke. I drink a lot of both, water and diet coke. Its hard to give up all carbs AND soda!! I only survive because of it. I like tea, but i cant drink it everyday. Dont like lemon water. I tried splenda coke, but its just weird to me, lol. I dont eat things with SA's. I have stayed at 20 or below EVERY week. And i do eat enough. I eat 3 times a day. b/l/d The first time i have heard about counting calories was reading this board the other day. i never heard about people counting calories on atkins. Im not so sure that would work for me. While i dont eat a lot of calories during the day, my dinners are pretty big. im a big guy! anyway, im sure ya'll will be hearing from me a lot now that i have a SN! and i have been reading the board everyday for the last month or so. id like to hear from anyone that has had the same issue with their 2nd go-round with this and having the same issue. -J |

MAJOR LCF POSTER!

Welcome!!
I wanted to say, there are LOTS of people here who drink diet soda and lose just fine, while some people swear it stalls them. Also, yes I get the whole losing slower thing, it's happening to me lateley, too. I don't know if it's getting older or the fact that I quit smoking recently or what, but there are also LOTS of people in your same boat, ie: losing slower this time. I bet if you're patient, the losses will pick up. You could just track your calories on an average day just to see what they are. I don't count calories either, but I did track all my food for a week or so recently just to make absolutely sure I'm not eating too many calories, or extra carbs that I didn't notice. Post often!!

Welcome!! You could always experiment, like cutting out the diet coke for a few days to see if there is any effect...
Glad to have you back! |
