not only tried it..but Love it!!
they sell it at my local health food store..
i buy the carb 1 which is good for sandwiches and toast..
and the carb 2 which is the raisin nut bread...
its divine as cinnamon toast or with nut butters..
i also buy healthwise Zero Carb bagels ..hamburger buns and hot dog buns..
i get those from a los angeles store in santa monica..
they deliver in 24 hours to san diego area..
but all have grains ..and if following OWL are at the top of the ladder..

TIP..keep julian and healthwise breads in the refrigerator..they mold easily..
sometimes almost overnight!! in the frige they keep for weeks!!

YOU are luckier than I am you can get it local + she is only a stones throw away
But I appreciate the info I don't get so upset if a product is bad as much as I do if I have to pay the shipping

I also love Julian bread. I buy it and freeze it and we eat it toasted. It's very dense and yummy flavor. We don't go through a lot of it because hubby is diabetic and we're both low carb, but maybe a slice a day or every other day. Another reason is the expense, but I'd rather spend the extra and get a quality product. I just learned about it this past year. I have to order online.

Yeah, I ordered from them and enjoyed their products, but then I stopped ordering because:

(1) Their nutritional label was incorrect
(2) I wrote and asked about it and their answers were vague and evasive
(3) I strongly believe that if one of the strongest marketing points about your
product is its nutritional value- you should jump through hoops to make good on your claims.

Julian Bakery runs a poor business and I am skeptical of their claims.

My opinion until further notice

I'd like to know too because their bakery is about a mile from where my husband works, and I'd like to try their products as an occasional treat in maintenance (if adding grain back in doesn't retrigger the joint pain I've not had on LC.)

I can ask them for the details in person.

I haven't tried them yet but I'm very interested. I love the wholesome, natural ingredients and the fact that they are chemical and preservative free and organically grown.

And my favorite part is that most of the products are soy free. I don't eat soy and this is the ONLY bread I've ever seen without soy in the ingredients!

I'd love to incorporate it sparingly into my diet later on in maintenance!

i dont know what facts exist to make anyone Disbelieve the Julian Bakery labels..
nor any facts to back up a belief that they run a poor business..

I've bought their breads and I'm skeptical.
I've had sprouted grain breads before and they're dense, chewy and very distinct.
The JB breads are fluffy and don't have the same characteristics of every other sprouted grain bread I've ever had.
Food for Life's Ezekiel bread is a good example of a sprouted grain bread, if someone wants to try them without the expense of shipping.
Just IMO of course.

There were a whole series of emails from last summer...dealing with incorrect calorie counts, fat/carb/protein labels that did not add up, etc.

It's pretty easy to spot errors on a nutrition label if you're handy with math and know that protein & carbs are 4 cals per gram and fat is 9 cals per gram.

If you search this forum - more details to be found in past threads.

Let me just state again that when a business has nothing to hide, they don't hide and play games with the data - they are more than happy to disclose the facts.

Buyer beware -as always.

Netrition has decided not to carry Julian Bakery low carb bread because we firmly believe their nutrition facts are incorrect. Based on the ingredients and the calorie count, their low carb bread should actually contain 13 net carbs per slice, not one net carb. Whether it is intentional on their part or not, we do not know, but our theory is that they mis-read their lab test and did not add the fiber grams into the total carb grams before they then subtracted the fiber grams out for a net carb count. So the "One Net Carb" bread total carbs should be 25 total carbs instead of 13 grams.

I was very disappointed with the rye and sour dough. They came in little round packages, like they made them by putting the dough in a can and baked it. No way you could make a sandwich out of it. Administrator, do you know anything about Carb Crunchers bread, ie. the bagels, rolls, etc. thank you in advance. Julie

THIS is enough for me NOT to buy this bread! Netrition is by far one of the best internet companies I have ever dealt with. Their integrity in the products they promote and sell speaks volumes!

What don't you understand? I was saying that if Netrition, the company that sponsors LCFs, is saying that the bread is labeled incorrect, it's enough for me to not buy it because Netrition is one of the best internet companies I have dealt with as far as product and service and I trust what they say.

i am still buying it for my husband..
he lost 50 pounds eating it..
you can read the ingredients list and see whats in it..
if the label is wrong..
then maybe its not so good for VLC ..
but it works fine for my husband..
and when i get to grains rung..
i might eat it every now and again as well..

The Carb Krunchers product looks good based on its ingredients. Netrition does not sell it because it is too perishable. The low shelf life and amount of transit time (manufacturer to Netrition to customer) prevent Netrition from getting a fresh product to their customers.

Thank you Kathy. I just love their bagels, and rye bread. Obviously, I would rather order from Netrition, but understand why you don't carry them. Thanks again, Julie

Does anyone know if the nutrition is correct on Healthwise zero net carb bagels? I had wondered why Netrition did not carry it.
