Too much Googling = confusion!
![]() Ok, I've been following the new Atkins, yet I've been researching the Atkins '72. I have noticed some differences in acceptable foods for the induction (where, btw, I fully intend to remain a lot longer than 2 weeks) & am confused now. Have I been hindering more potential weight loss by not following the stricter '72 version?? |

If it is working for you then keep doing what you are doing. I decided to go with 72, I just needed to be strict with myself. I really needed it to get going.

I love Atkins 72!! You can get the book on ebay for 2 bucks. Get it, its a great read it makes so much sense. Its so much easier to stick to than DANDR. Read and get all the knowledge you can, then decide what works for you. Good luck!

No you haven't been hindering your loss. If '72 was the only version that worked then there wouldn't be other versions. Dr Atkins refined his plan over the years based on the results.
I believe the key is to choose one plan and work it, rather than bits of different ones. You're welcome to try '72 of course, some people do better on it. But don't do so because you think it's some kind of "super Atkins". It's not, just a different version. If you want to stay longer than the two weeks on Induction you might find that harder to do on '72 since it's more restrictive. I tried '72 for a week once, but I couldn't hack it for any longer than that. I missed my veggies too much. A little bit of salad wasn't cutting it for me. And yet DANDR Induction suits me down to the ground.
