Feeling spongy....

My skin. it feels a bit...spongy, is all i can think to describe it. i'm down around 9 pounds or so according to the scale. i feel....more jiggly. its just sort of odd i guess.

Good job with losing 9 pounds! As I lose, I think the worse I look when nekkid I have all KINDS of jiggly, um, parts. It does feel funny, I agree. Plump fat was more attractive. I could pretend there was some muscle under there (NOT!) For me, I think the "spongy stuff" is unavoidable because I had stretched out EVERYTHING. I've recently added exercise which darn well better start showing effects soon

Here's hoping your skin is nice and elastic

That's what I learned from my own weight loss. Give it a few days and what was 'spongy' will be flatter.

Haha yeah spots were I've held most weight have more of that consistancy. Body likes to insert water into fat cells to "hold its place". It's consistancy will be different. So yep, woosh nearby.

I will have you all know that I have been secretly lurking this thread and squeezing my arm fat, leg fat, back fat and belly fat trying to determine if it's jiggly, spongey, squishy, etc. I can't tell, and people in my office are probably wondering what the heck i'm doing

It's pretty obvious... at least if you're not skinny to begin with. One day you'll be putting on clothes and say, "OMG, what is up with my skin?!" *experimental squeeze*

LOLOLOL I do that ALL the time. I've made watching for specific weight loss an art form!

I can tell when fat parts start losing, and I can tell when they're about gone. I'm always looking for the 'sponge' because that's where the soonest changes will come from. One thing I also noticed, when fat parts are 'spongey' they feel ever so slightly warmer.

For me, when I start losing in a place, my fat actually gets softer and bigger before I start losing inches. So, firm, then fluffy, then spongy and then GONE!!

Insteresting, now I am sitting here pinching myself. So can anyone describe it more than of a sponge? does it look like you have more cellulite and then you lose the fat and it smooths out? So when you pinch yourself it is soft and hangy. I dont notice any of that but if I knew what to look for that would be fun!!!

If it's soft and hangy, it's lost some fat, it's probably still losing, but it's not spongey. Hmmm.....how to describe spongey. There is absolutely no resistance. I can tell the difference between fluffy and spongey. Spongey has no resistance. It's like touching whipped cream and it jiggles like water and ripples for awhile. Just soft and fluffy jiggles but it doesn't jiggle as much. Plus, as I've said, spongey feels just a trifle warmer.

Its so funny this is being brought up right now...I haven't lost anything on the scale in the last week and a half and of course I am feeling a little inpatient about that, but I did notice on Thursday that my tummy was getting that loose feeling (typical jiggly puff) so I thought "oh....I will be dropping on the scale soon" which is good because I am experiencing the typical post induction stall. Its sort of silly but it gave me the feeling that I am making progress even though there isn't anything going on with the scale yet. LOL Also, when I start losing I get diarhea (sorry....I know, tmi) but it always happens this way for me. Even though its a little crazy, when this happens I get excited because I know a whoosh will happen soon both in scale and inches.
