Whey protein powder from Walmart

I was looking for the protein powder I bought the last time at Walmart. The last time I had it, the canister said 5 carbs per two scoops. Now it has gone up some how. Anyone else notice this?

I buy the EAS brand at Walmart - 2 net carbs/scoop (3 - 1 fiber). That's the vanilla.

The chocolate reads the same.

I just looked at the Whey protein powder last night at Walmart and almost choked when I read it had 8 carbs per serving - 1 fiber for 7 net carbs!!!!!

This is what my EAS tub says, too. What brand are you looking at and are you sure it is carb controled? There are other brands that are higher.

I did find, however, that the tubs are ALOT smaller than they used to be....but at the same price

But, arent we supposed to use 2 scoops? I do see that it is the lowest of carbs so far.

Do you mean for a shake? I use different amounts for different things - lately I've only been using it in one-minute muffins, and I just use a tablespoon. Same when I make faux oatmeal (which is just flax, whey protein, cream, butter, AS of choice).

yea, body fortress is the one at walmart. Maybe I was wrong, and it always said 1 scoop at 5 carbs per serving. I could have sworn it was 2 scoops.

I was thinking of adding some to my lunch carbmaster yogurt. The yogurt is already 3 carbs and I dont want to go to much over that.

I use Body Fortress and I normally just use one scoop. If you check the label, it has a break down for using one or two. Just depends on how much protein you want to get.

Hope that helps.

I use Body Fortress and it's 2g carbs. But mine is a year old, so maybe it's changed.

They did change the carb count on the Body Fortress label a couple years ago or so. However, when I did the math using the other numbers on the label, the old counts still seemed to be correct and the new counts appear to be incorrect. I don't have the old figures anymore though so I have no proof of this. In any case, I've been using it quite a bit lately and I'm not having any weight issues from it. I usually use two heaping scoops in my shakes.

I use body fortress and sometimes add an egg. I am really hungry an hour later!

Usually the powders have two columns of nutrition info, one for one scoop, and one for two scoops. You don't always have to use two scoops - if I'm just using it as a post-workout protein rush, I use one, but if it's a meal replacement, I use two.

Right now I am using EAS Premium Protein/Stage 3 Blend in chocolate and it only has 3g of carbs (27g protein, <1 fiber) per 2 scoops.

It's pretty good. I like it. Not overly chalky like the others.

I got the huge bag at Costco. Once I am done with it, I might try something else.
