Favorite LC foods to serve to non-LCers?
I'm looking for ideas/recipes that you have served to non-lcers that have been well received. So what LC goodies have you served to family and friends that really impressed?

For dinner I always have success with a good steak and a large fresh salad with a good quality dressing.
For snacks - buffalo wings are always a hit. |

I made a pumpkin dish from Linda's site for Thanksgiving and it was so good nobody knew it wasn't sugary and carby. I've also made a really good pumpkin bread that wasn't very low carb but it was much lower carb than regular pumpkin bread. At the time I didn't realize brown sugar splenda had real sugar in it!

I made a crab salad lately that made the non low carbers VERY happy. I gave them sourdough bread with it though. Are you trying to keep their meal totally low carb?
A cheese tray is always good too. |

Meat and cheese trays. I usually add crackers for the high carbers and just don't partake of them.

We do a lot of the "normal" stuff I guess. Veggie Trays with Ranch dip, shrimp cocktail, cheese and pepperoni (with crackers on the side), deviled eggs, i also make a lot of the recipes from Healthy Indulgences. She has AWESOME recipes. We have gotten rave reviews of the coconut cupcakes, and the Not-Tella cupcakes. No one knows they are gluten free and low carb! Especially if I leave out the stevia, which I am not used to the bitterness yet.
For main dishes, we do a lot of roasts, steaks, pork tenderloin, roasted chicken, chicken and egg salad. Chocolate Mousse and creme brulee are always a hit too. My family liked the plain microwaved american cheese. Crispy and salty, helps with that - "everyone else is having chips" feeling. |

I've been specifically asked to bring this to family functions: Broccoli-Cauliflower Salad - All Recipes
I double the cauliflower and broccoli, and replace the sugar with half as much Splenda. I don't layer it, I mix it all together. Also, seven layer salad or deviled eggs. |
