Please view my feedback - I can't stop gaining!!!

Please view my ****** log and give feedback. Background information: I'm eating completely clean but can't seem to get the scale to stop moving up ... I'm 5'5" and currently 147 lbs (the latest jump on the scale) I think you can see the "weight change" on my page. This summer I was 141.5 lbs (up and down 1 lb) Now I'm really up. I would love feedback on whether you see any problem foods, etc.

Thanks :-)

ADDED: Please note that for today, I WILL be eating more ... it's only 7:28 this morning...

IMO I would drop some of those veggies and ADD more Protein try to keep your carbs around 5-8 per day and see if this starts you?
When I hit even have a small stall I will eat 2 meals of just protein/ fat
I will eat my veg carbs in the middle of the day
I hope this helps

Hmm, I dunno, the things that stand out to me is that your calories and carbs might be too high. Its possible that your metabolism is slower that the average person of your weight. You seem to be averaging around 1300 calories and 25-30 carbs per day. There are lots of people out there who can't go over 20 carbs a day and lose. You unfortunately might be one of those people. Same for calories. I average around 1300-1400 per day with less than 20 carbs and I weigh a heck of a lot more than you do, and I am losing around 3 lbs per week. Some people have to watch calories more strictly than others, its just the way it is. First thing I would try is cutting your carbs back under 20. And if that doesn't get the scale moving downward, then try also cutting your calories back by 100 per day. Hope that helps.

This same thing happened to me and it was my thyroid...it tanked. I had no other symptoms initially other than unexplained weight gain. I ignored it until I actually not only gained and couldn't lose but felt very sick (1 year later- I enjoyed eating LC so did not change WOE). I found someone to treat my thyroid and properly medicate me and the weight came off eating the same LC way that had worked before. IMHO, it is not normal to just to gain weight eating the same way that helped you lose initially. HTH, good luck.

E.T.A. Check out the thyroid thread there are a lot of people who have similiar stories on there, I was shocked. I had 4 doctors initially tell me my thyroid was fine and I should eat 500-1000 calories to lose and maintain even though I worked out 5-6 days a week lifting heavy weights and intense cardio.

I don't think you are eating ENOUGH. I am seeing you are only eating 814 calories. That is IMO not enough. I am no expert tho.

That 814 was for today, so I assume it's only the foods she's eaten thus far. The other days show an average of about 1300 a day.

luvbug, I did look at several days' worth of your menus and your food looks super clean and simple and good.

People have mentioned thyroid stuff, as well as carbs and calories. I personally think your carbs and calories look fine. Go to your doctor and get your thyroid checked, so that at least you'll know one way or the other.

I know! I would faint with only that many calories. After seeing the "real picture", I would also recommend seeing your Dr. and having bloodwork done for your thyroid. Last year about 2 mos into Low carbing I started gaining weight eating the same percentages that had me losing weight. Lo and behold my levels were all out of whack.

Hope things get straightened out soon for you. I know how frustrating it is.

If you see a doctor, be sure he or she orders tests of both T4 and T3 in addition to TSH. It would help if you could get the doctor to oder the FREE T4 and T3, which measures what's usable in your body.

If your T3 is low (even if in range), your weight WILL creep up regardless of anything you do.

I am excercising - I don't use ****** to track that though ... I'm more using it for nutrition needs, etc.

Gosh, I sure wish that it was easier to figure this all out!

Becky, I think your menu looks great. It's quite similar to mine as far as ratios are concerned.

I think we have a couple of factors at play here, first and foremost, it's getting cold girl and I am hearing about a few pound weight gain all over the place! As we all know, the endocrine system has to do some winterizing and this might take time to adjust.

And yes, you might just need some thyroid testing. If it doesn't go above say 5-6lbs. don't worry too much.....

Make sure you're getting your D3 too being up there in Canada!

I'll keep watching it, and if I have any more issues - I'll go to the doc...
It's funny, I never had this weight gain thing last year with the cold... Why suddenly this year?

This happens to alot of us. Our bodies get used to our diets and become more efficient using the calories.

You are basically at a great weight. I do believe LCers can weigh more and look thinner because we don't lose the muscle that other lowfat dieters lose.

The only thing I would do is to cut back on your fat to around 50-55 percent and see what happens. Good luck..You have done great!!

you said you have recently started exercising.. This can cause gain..
I have been eating the same over the last 2 weeks (since I have started going to the gym) and gained.. I know exercise, espically when you just starting out, you gain water weight to help repair muscle (and this will also happen after hard workouts)

Becky, it's been nice getting to know you

I've been low carbing for almost 10 years now and yes, I've had fluctuations. I've been freaked out and yes, I too have gained from exercise, in the winter, yes as Suzanne says, hormones. I don't freak out though if it's less than 5 or 6 lbs. I stomp around, get bummed out if I'm bloated but hey, it happens!

Like shykins, I reduce my carbs and clean up for a few days if I'm really feeling sluggish. I like to incorporate at least 2 very low carb days in my week. You might try that too now that you've your your new Wii.

Yes, you (the OP) mentioned starting exercising in the last two threads you started about your weight gain, but left it out this time. Regardless of the whole what weighs more per per cubic inch discussion , even if you aren't working out with weights, just starting a new exercise regimen can make your body hold on to water.
