"Wasting Away"-funny :)

I have an older lady who I am friends with, but only see her maybe a couple of times a year. We might talk on the phone from time to time. My dh has done some yard work for her in the past also. Basically she is a friendly acquaintance I guess.

Several months ago, she called me and I mentioned to her I had lost a good bit of weight. She said she was so glad because last time she had seen me she noticed I had gotten heavier and was looking frumpy.

Well, I am glad she was polite enough not to tell me what she thought at the time, but still...

Then I saw her about a week after that, and she commented on my weight loss and that I looked good, etc.

Now, she dropped by this weekend to give some things to my dd. She asked, "Are you still losing weight?" I said "No, I've been about the same weight since January." She said, "Oh." Then she looked at my dh and said "What are you going to do with her, she's wasting away?"

I just thought it was funny how she thought I was fat and frumpy and now she thinks I am "wasting away".

I am not angry or offended, I just thought it was amusing.

frumpy??? well.. i've been called many things ..but never frumpy ...is that like female-grumpy ..or

congrats on your weightloss and for not being frumpy anymore ...
