Induction / Worse Mood?
I'm hijacking someone else's thread, but I need to know...
Does anyone feel MORE anxious/moody when LC'ing? After 8 days, I'm moody, irritable, and I have a TERRIBLE headache!! Last edited by Croshay; 11-04-2009 at 01:13 PM.. |

Ketosis pushes estrogen out into the system, causing a little bit more moodiness, but it is only temporary! The system will regulate itself.
Are you eating enough fat? Without fat, I'm a grumpalump. |

It takes a couple of months for the induction blahs to pass for me. Most people it's a couple of days to a couple of weeks max.
My personal, completely non-scientific theory is that it takes me longer to increase production of whatever enzymes, hormones etc. it takes to convert low-carb foods to brain fuel, so I'm stuck with a pseudo-low blood sugar situation until then. On an ongoing basis, I have to be very sure not to go too long without food (which is very easy to do when you're not hungry because of ketosis), and I have to eat plenty of dark green vegetables even in the morning. Otherwise I get spacey, dizzy and short on patience.
