How Do You Lose While Eating Oopsie Rolls?

We had a few blocks of cream cheese that we had to use up and so I made a LOT of oopsie rolls.

Since I'm a lot more serious about being back on plan I started to worry if all that cream cheese might affect my loss?

Any input?

I don't. I have to eat VERY clean in order to lose weight. More the '72 version clean. I started doing Atkins the first time before I found this site and I lost about 10-12 pounds a month. When I found this site I stopped losing because I tried all the little goodies and quick fixes. This time I am keeping it very clean and not paying as much attention to the yummy concoctions .

It's cream cheese, egg, and cream of tartar, all of which I'm pretty sure are okay for induction and OWL. Unless you eat ALL of them at the same time, I doubt you will gain or slow your loss.

Oopsie rolls are so good that I have at times eaten too many. I rarely make them anymore unless my DH wants some.

Oopsoe rolls aren't treats. It's a variation of a recipe ATKINS had in one of his books. The ingredients aren't anything you cannot have after induction or any other phase.

cream cheese 3 oz
egg 2-3 eggs depends which recipe u follow
splenda or other sweetener 1 packet (can be left out)
cream of tartar (powdered substance that has little to no carbs, unless u eat the whole can, the recipe calls for like a teaspoon.)

That's it.

The rolls are just an error I made when trying to make a different iteration of the Rev. Rolls that ended up being sturdier and better tasting. All ingredients are legal for induction, and are pretty low in both cals and carbs. You could eat an entire batch (6) per day in induction and not leave ketosis unless you're sensitive to cheese or eggs. Not that I'd do it. I'd rather eat cheese than bread made from cheese. They were just a solution for certain needs.

I oopsies but when I make them, I never eat more than 2 in a day so I have no probs with them. I could see how you might though if you eat an entire batch.

It's super easy. Just 3 egg whites, 3 yolks, 3 ounces cream cheese and 1/8 tsp cream of tartar (optional).

Beat whites with 1/8 tsp cream of tartar until stiff and peaks form (3-5 minutes).

In another bowl, mix softened cream cheese with yolks.

Carefully fold yolks in with whites. Make six piles of stuff on a greased cookie sheet and bake at 300 degrees for 30 minutes.

Some folks add other stuff to the batter to keep the loft and stiffness, like flax seed meal or xanthan gum.

Experimenting gives people what they like best, and the whole point of a healthy way of eating should be to do what works best for you and you personally.

I am with you. I am at goal pretty much - I want to drop 5 more pounds eventually. But I have to stay clean just to maintain what I am now let alone drop 5lbs more. Make it a treat for a rare occasion.

Do you *have* to have cream of tartar to make these? Dying to try them!

No, I usually just use a tiny dash of vinegar to whip my egg whites.

I think they taste kinda meringuey? I have eaten too many, so I'm not the right person to ask. Anymore, I go for a lettuce wrap. I OD'd on oopsies in 2008!

They taste kinda croissant-y to me fresh out of the oven and then more meringue-y after they sit. They do serve a purpose but I'm really sensitive to cheese/dairy as far as weight loss so haven't had them for months now. Might make some for Thanksgiving or something. Cleo started a "revolution" with them last year!
