FAGE TOTAL YOGURT

Having had the total "0" for a number of years; I was hesitant to try the full fat version..I didn't really think there would be much of a difference. I was very very wrong. I mixed it with a tsp of brown sugar splenda and topped it with slices of strawberries and sliced almonds for breakfast. It was dee- lish- us

yep - i use 1/2 container per morning protein shake - wayyyy better with the full fat ... i had started using the 0 also but ended up using hwc instead of lc hood milk to make it taste frothy and thick like i was used to ... so calorie / fat wise .. just buy the full fat and be done with it

The 0 has 7 carbs per container, the 2% has 8, and the full fat has 6. It's the only low carb yogurt that my grocery store carries - it's pricey ... but it's all they have lc ..

You can pretty much make your own by straining regular full fat yogurt overnight, and mixing a little cream back in with it. That's what I do.

what's true lime-- like lime juice? I guess I could squeeze some lime juice (perhaps some vanilla extract too) and the truvia or brown sugar splenda. Keep these ideas coming.

I prefer Stonyfield Farms organic cream-top yogurt, but I have tried Fage (the full-fat kind) a couple of times, and decided it's a good option because A) it really is quite low in carbs and B) they don't sell Stonyfield plain yogurt in little individual containers around here, and it takes me too long to go through a quart. One Fage container is two servings for me. It's very, very thick. I almost want to cut it with a little water or something.

I generally mix a full batch up with some flavorings just because I'm lazy and would rather eat the same flavor all week than have to mix up different ones every day.

This week, it's a touch of liquid Splenda to sweeten and some home brewed vanilla extract (vastly superior to store bought vanilla). Last week it was a little hazelnut Torani and cinnamon.

I only used a 1/2 tsp or so, just to take the edge off the tartness of the yogurt. They used to have straight up brown sugar splenda, but it has left the grocery store shelves.

thanks

since Fage is prestrained and it has 7 carbs I guess that also answers the yogurt strainers position that straining yogurt removes all the carbs.
