I think they stopped making my favorite peanut butter

I used up the last of my peter pan no sugar added pb and no one seems to sell it anymore. I went to the peter pan site and they don't have it listed. I have tried a few other but this was my favorite.

Which do y'all recommend? I have used the natural with the oil and its ok but prefer pp.

Dixiegal, have you tried WalMart? I still see it in my local WM's, but I'm in Texas.

That's where I used to get it, but our wm doesn't have it anymore. I don't know if its just our local one but Wm here is taking more name brands off the shelves here and adding more true value brands. Its getting hard to find anything there these days.

I liked that one too. Now I usually use Smuckers natural, Trader Joes organic, or one of the organic ones in the health food store. It is hard to find one without sugar added.

Watch out for the "natural" PBs

I think it was Skippys "natural" that I looked at the other day and found that the natural meant they added 'natural' palm oil and dehydrated cane juice (uncooked sugar) rather than hydrogenated soy and std white sugar.
A scan of some other brands revealed much of the same.
Fortunately a regional chain (Meijer's) carries a store label PB that has a wonderful ingredient list

Ingredients: Peanuts

If you can find Teddie's there is no better peanut butter sold. It's just peanuts and oil.

It's a regional brand sold in New England. When I am in other parts of the country I can never find anything anywhere near as good except at those health food co-ops or stores like Whole Foods where they grind the PB in the store.

I noticed my WM doing the same thing. I don't care for their brand so I may stop shopping there altogether.

They may have just changed the name of it. That happened recently with the ketcup I usually buy -- it's the same stuff as always, but now they call it "Low Sugar" (or something like that) instead of "One Carb".

Smuckers Natural is just Peanuts and Salt.

My local grocery store grinds their own pb in the deli section from just salted peanuts, but Smuckers is usually cheaper.

It doesn't taste anywhere near as good as the Teddies, nor does tht TJ's PB.

I think it is the freshness. Peanut butter goes rancid very fast and a lot of the natural brands are rancid, to the point where many people think the taste of rancid peanuts is the proper taste of peanut butter.

I used to live around the corner from the Teddie's factory. Passed it every day on the way to and from work, the T, the gym, etc. Wish I could get it down South!

I am on the wagon with PB - I have real portion control issues but next time I will try Costco's brand. I usually buy TJ's organic. I did see the Peter Pan no sugar added at Big Lots, so maybe it is a closeout.

Peter Pan Sugar-Free came off the shelves during the ?salmonella? scare a couple of years ago.
When it came back, it was only the creamy variety in the sugar-free.

I buy the natural now and stir in my own Splenda.
