I eat no more than 2 a week, if that. i'm worried about the cholesterol and besides I don't really like eggs alone. now, egg salad smothered in mayo mustard and relish is a different story.

My only problem with Eggs is when people put them in Chicken salad.
Isn't that just adding insult to injury? |

I'm having eggs right now! Two boiled eggs mashed and mixed with mayo on top of a large romaine lettuce leaf and two slices of bacon. Delicious! I usually eat 2 a day.

Apparently, Charles Saatchi (husband of cook, Nigella Lawson) has lost loads of weight by living on 9 eggs per day + fruit. (That really is self-control, when she cooks fabulous food!)
I frequently hard-boil 8 eggs and snack on two chopped with 2teasp of mayo. It's quick to prepare and filling to eat (3 hours of satiation). I usually eat about 30 a week. Wifezilla! Your ducks are pretty! What do you feed them? We're trying to (yes still) figure out whether we will get ducks or chickens this spring. I'm just worried because my cats are such hunters.......so I need to make sure we can build something secure.

FAWN: No problem with your cats and chickens... my son has half a dozen chickens and also 6 cats. A sharp peck soon taught the cats to keep their distance!

![]() While a grown cat could easily munch on a duckling, it usually wont bother a full grown adult. As for ducks vs chickens...each has its pluses and minuses. I prefer ducks because they are more disease resistant and can handle more weather extremes. If I was to get chickens I would go for these... http://www.feathersite.com/Poultry/C...averolles.html They are a dual purpose bird....good for meat or eggs. They are also supposed to be very even tempered. A bit fragile as chicks, but a good breed. They even come in a bantam size ![]() As for waiting for Spring, often you can get birds REALLY CHEAP this time of year and in to December as people reduce their flocks to save on feed through the winter. I got my first trio of ducks for free. I sold the drake, one of the hens died, but I still have the Indian Runner hen. She lays HUGE eggs. As for allergies, if you are allergic to chicken eggs, sometimes you can eat ducks eggs without any problems. The protein in the egg white that triggers the allergic reaction is slightly different among different species of bird. Some people can eat chicken eggs, but not quail eggs. In my case, chicken eggs can give me hives but no problem with the duck eggs so far!
