surprise about shoes

Yesterday I went to Penney's to take advantage of a shoe sale. Was I surprised that along with a 50lb weight loss, I loss a whole size in shoes going from a 10 to a 9 and even the 9 was big on my right foot. Maybe I'll get down to my original size 81/2 after the next 50lbs.
Anyone else have a similar experience?

Yes! I was a 10. Then a 10.5 when pregnant. Then back to a 10. Then after losing weight, a 9. Nice!

yes! before losing weight i was a solid 11, sometimes 12s even fit... gigantic feet!

just a few days ago i tried on a pair of candies boots at kohl's, it's a juniors style shoe and a 10 fit. target 10s fit now too

but the very best thing shoe-wise is the knee high boots!!! they zip up all the way now

Went from a 7.5/8 to a 9.

I am back down to 7.5/8 after all the weight loss.

Had to get rid of all my shoes. Not that it was a bad thing.

Shoes were my reward for each mini goal. And believe me the heels have gotten higher and higher!

Yes!
I used to be a size 11 and a few years ago lost 70 lbs and went down to a 9.5!
I've gained weight since then and now wear a 10... Hopefully I will go down again.more concerned withmy dress size though!

I did on my original stint on Atkins. I also found I could wear higher heels without pain after the loss, as well.

I have went down a size from 8 to 7 I still have a wide foot with a high arch. I can zip up boots now too.

i could only WISH i'd lose a foot size...i wear a size 11/12 and can't tell you what a pain it is going shoe shopping.

My DH was astounded when his shoes started getting bigger and bigger. He's lost a whole size or more, along with 110 pounds. I've also lost back to my pre-pregnancy, pre-fat size, after losing almost 90 pounds. That was a bonus!

Darn it!

My feet have gotten bigger, I swear. I think it is from all the running I do. In fact, my real problem is the front of my foot has gotten bigger, but my heel is much smaller. I literally cannot wear any shoes with a back (i.e. a loafer or pump style.) It has to be a slip-on or have an adjustable strap. I end up wearing boots all Fall/Winter because they are the only thing I can get on my foot.

Good for you all losing a shoe size, or more. I only wish!

Before weight loss I was a 9 1/2. Now I can fit into a 9, and could probably wear an 8 1/2 in some shoes.

I'd been thinking that the leather had gotten stretched out. So I'm slow!

I need to buy some new ones in any case.

You're quite right! I'm 5'2" and in college wore a 7.5...my roommate was 5'7" and wore a 6.5...
She was always teetering and holding onto me for balance! She'd suddenly lose balance just Standing there!

Was 10, now 9.5. My shoes don't fit anymore. Which is ok I guess since I have no clothes to wear anyway.

No one told me losing weight was so expensive!!!!!

I ran into Easy Spirit the other day because they called to let me know a new shoe had come in. I walked past a lady that was saying she recently lost 25lbs and now doesn't have to wear a wide width. So yes, you do loose in your feet too!
