SF Bay Area
Hi was wondering if we had a group of ppl in the Bay Area that would be willing to list a few restaurants that are low carb friendly? I find it hard at times finding a low carb restaurant here locally. If you would post your favorite dish as well that would be cool.
Thank you! Felix Last edited by Low Carb; 10-13-2009 at 08:26 AM.. |

My DH stayed in SF a couple months back for a training session, and he ate every night at Sam's Grill in the financial district because they had great choices for those following LC, and didn't bat an eye at his requests. He had fish a couple nights and I think a steak? I don't remember all the details now, I just remember he liked it very much and said they poured a HELLUVA Scotch!

I always go to Chipotle off of Montgomery street in the FiDi.
If you're ever there, you'll probably see me ![]() I also really like the Greek Salads from Park Gyros over at 9th and Lincoln. Besides that, I'll go to In N Out over at the Wharf a couple times a year. I don't go out that often but you can really find great LC options anywhere. I'd be cautious with the froyo to make it a very rare special treat. |

I ate out last night at L&L Hawaiian BBQ there is a low carb meal but it didn't taste low carb. I wonder what the carb count was on that meal?

Thank you I will be in Santa Rosa this weekend and I will visit John Ash or Willow side. Is there a favorite dish you would recommend at either of these?

I ate yesterday at a place call puerto azul in Willow Glen off of Lincoln street. This place has a buffet during lunch and they have chili verde and chili colorado that are good. They also have a lot of seafood to order off the menu.

I'll be in SF starting Saturday for a few days. Too bad I only know my way around via cable car! (Total tourist I know, but 3-4 days is not enough time to figure it all out)
![]() I'd like to try some of those places out and meet some of you! LOL |

Lefty O'Douls! Downtown San Francisco, just west of Union Square--it's a very old, vintage style restaurant and bar, with a baseball theme. It's been around forever and has wonderful ambiance....very "old San Francisco". My BF and I used to go there constantly when I visited him in SF. It's the right place to get lots of traditional meats (ribs, roasts, turkey breasts, corned beef etc. all sliced in front of you). They have a good selection of veggies too. It's good for a LC eater because the way dinner is served, you can mix and match the meats and the sides as you go down the cafeteria line.
(Cafeteria makes it sound casual and lunch-ish, but it's actually more of a dinner and late night place, dark and cozy, that just happens to serve cafeteria, mix and match style).

Hi. Check out the House of Prime Rib. It will knock your socks off. The place is famous among the locals, make a reservation or wait for a while at the bar. They have awesome prime rib straight off of a cart that comes to your table. The best part is, if you finish your first piece, they'll give you another one for free! All my guy friends like to go there just for bragging rights on this. Just ask them not to bring the bread. They make an awesome house salad tableside, and they have a great veggie selection. I guarantee you will not be disappointed. It's on Van Ness and Pacific I think? Anyway, just Google it. It is my favorite (SF Native)
