When you can bend over and tie your shoes.

When you need to get a new driver's license because the old one just doesn't look like you.

When you walk your thighs don't start a small fire.

When someone that does not realize it is you ask you if you are related to YOU!

When you stop demanding that anyone taking a picture of you can only take it from the neck up.

When you willing sit in a wicker or plastic chair.

OMG, well I still have a long way to go but here's the great stuff I've noticed after losing just over 30 pounds:

*Bras getting loose, on the last set of hooks now when they used to be straining at the seams

*I went to Lane Bryant, took some pants into the fitting room and had to poke my head out and ask the salesgirl for a SMALLER size instead of a BIGGER size

*Favorite pair of lounge-around-the-house leggings that used to fit tight around my leg, now flap and bag around the thighs

*I have wide feet and my shoes always felt tight---now most of my shoes are a comfortable fit and some of my extra-wides are TOO big.

*We went to the movies last week and I fit into the seat better than I did six months ago.

*My trips to the grocery store are faster!

*My car stays cleaner with no fast food wrappers

When you put on some old "fat pants" and have a little trouble pulling them up, and you wonder how that's possible when you've lost weight. Then you realize you didn't unbutton and unzip them before trying them back on.

First time I did Adkins I did this also!

My favorite memory from the last time I lost a ton of weight was one morning I was asleep and I hear someone knocking at the door so I jumped up and grabbed some jeans and threw them on ...half asleep I answer the door and this person was wanting to look at a van I was selling so I grabbed the keys and ran out the door to show them the van and my pants fell down...thank goodness they didnt see it!

I just had the second "ring" incident of the week. Earlier in the week, my college ring (that I have worn every day for the last several years) literally fell off my hand. (I'm going to wear it on my middle finger instead from now on) This morning, I was having my coffee and realized my engagement ring was GONE - not on my finger. After some panic, I found it in the bed - it fell off at some point overnight. Off to the jewelers today for a ring guard for that one LOL

* I have to make sure m daughter doesn't 'smack' her head on my collar bone when I pick her up

Thanks for all of these posts guys, had a carb binge due to stress over the past three days and was really disappointed in myself........but, reading all of these accomplishments and examining my own made me feel soooooo much better. I may have cheated but I have still come so far.

Congrats to all! <3

The most obvious sign I've lost a lot of weight is the fact that every person I know, and a lot of people I barely know, are coming up to me to rave about how good I look and asking what my "secret" is.

And also I can actually shop in regular stores now. I'm still getting used to that psychologically, but the stuff fits so I better get over it.

1. People tell me I look more like my younger sister than she does.

2. Was on the TV news recently and actually thought I looked pretty good.

3. Have been having guys I went to high school with telling me how great I look.

4. I feel like a "normal" person now.

  1. Between yesterday and today, I've had three separate straight men comment on my weight. Just for the record, I'm straight also, so for men to be noticing is pretty remarkable. <whisper>They see me as a threat, ladies!</whisper>

What are yours?
I've had the same thing happen to me. School started back up this week and several of my straight male classmates have commented that I look so much thinner now. They also all know that I'm gay (and there are so many HAWT guys at my school... *sigh*), so this is a double compliment because they all know it could come across as hitting on me.

I'm thrilled.

Other ways I know I've lost weight:

- The seatbelt fits me now. And there's even a bit of slack in it.
- We're going to a wedding today, and a suit I couldn't wear to my father's funeral nine months ago fits me. Woot! No more pants-and-sports-coat for me.
- A pair of short boots I bought myself last year, which I could not fit my feet into because they were too fat, now fit me wonderfully.

The next one I'm looking for is being able to fit into a restaurant booth without having to suck in first... but I can now fit into them if I suck in. I couldn't even do that before.

This is awesome in so many ways.

When my father died last January, I inherited one of his rings (his bachelor's class ring). It was tight on all my fingers. Now I can wear it on any of them - and on the pinky it's so big it would fall off!

-You can wear a skirt without having to wear shorts underneath or put talc on to stop your thighs rubbing together!?

- you don't have to use loads and LOADS of shading, bronzer and blusher to try and fake cheek and jaw bones...because you have them...woo!

- you dont have "brarms" (the extra fat which confuses you as to whether it's breast and supposed to in your bra or actually just arm fat that's bulging over!?)

-you don't have "cankles" (when you were so fat that you cant tell where your ankles stops and your calves begin)

- you don't have to be constantly paranoid about how you lift and bend because the extra weight puts so much pressure on your spine and you are prone to prolapsed discs.

When your sitting heart rate is 55 bpm

When sitting, your tailbone hurts due to no "extra padding"

When you have no heartburn

When you can take your pants/jeans off while still buttoned....and this leads into the next one:

When your wife has to say "get that thing away from me" more than once a day

When you can walk up a few flights of stairs and keep your breath

When the guys that work for you only pick places to eat they know you will not have a hard time ordering lunch

When you have energy to burn

Tom

Thank you for posting this! I couldn't figure out WHY my tailbone has been so sore lately. It's from sitting! Yet another good reason to get off my butt and do something...

Mine to add is that my hipbone is now the thing that sticks out most from the side of my hip instead of a big pouch of fat. I am mesmerized by the feel of my hipbones - so pointy and angular!

I am still waiting until I can sit cross-legged or kneel without one or both legs going to sleep.

Drives him crazy, but I find it a nice compliment and it only happens when I am losing weight.

Thanks for noticing Laura, lol I love it!
Puting your jeans on right out of the dryer is awsm! I used to have to hang dry my jeans and then they where still to tight. Now they are getting baggy on me even out of the dryer

I'm sure this has already been said, but , I saw my calf muscles the other day for the first time in years! Shaving my legs and under arms is soooo much easier now!lol

Oh also I got checked out by a guy at the grocery store yesterday for the first time in years also. A little creepy the way he went about it, but I guess I should just feel flatterd that I'm getting noticed again. lol
