yogurt

Do you eat yogurt?
I just started this woe again but didn't do induction...maybe I should but I am doing modified atkins - more of just eating healthier and watching the carbs.
Anyway I thought it would be best to buy plain yogurt and put fresh fruit in it. Have you ever tried plain yogurt...YUCK...don't know if I will be able to do this. Gross!

You don"t need yogurt if you don't like it.

I love this greek yogurt. I add Truvia or Splenda to it to sweeten it up along w/almonds/berries. So good.

I would only add this when you have moved up the carb ladder. I wouldn't add it in the beginning - closer to goal.

I love Fage but I definitely don't love the price tag, so I make my own YoCheese (find the recipe on Linda Sue's site!) Once it gets creamy and decadent, I love to add vanilla SF syrup and blueberries!

I didn't like plain yogurt when I first began eating it, but now I wouldn't eat it any other way. When I first started eating it I would sweeten it with something sugar free, or mix it with fruit. Now I love it straight out of the tub.

Once I eliminated sugar from my life, anything artifically sweetened(i.e. flavored yogurt) tastes gross.

Like others have said, mix it with Davinci's, truvia, stevia or fruit-it is a wonderful snack.

Once you drain the excess fluid from regular yogurt, doesn't it leave about half as much as you started with? Which makes Fage's price more reasonable, since you actually use/consume all that you buy, rather than wasting a paper towel and throwing (literally) half that Dannon (or whatever) down the drain?

Just my $.02.

I get the Dannon plain yogurt or Greek yogurt (If I can afford the Greek, which is very out of my price range right now).

Then I take unsweetened frozen strawberries. Let them thaw halfway, put them in the blender with splenda or sweetner of choice, and whiz it into a yummy strawberry syrup topping. I use this over the yogurt -its honestly as delicious as if you were to buy the Dannon "Fruit on the Bottom" yogurts. Sometimes I will add other whole fruit in addition to my strawberry mix.

I don't like yogurt. It's sour goo with bacteria in it, with other stuff added to make it palatable.

I guess I've always thought that yogurt was an excuse for people to eat candied fruit while calling it low-fat and healthy. And nobody actually LIKED the yogurt part.

Just putting it out there for any fellow freaks, apparently....

Amy - plain yogurt with fresh fruit and some liquid artificial sweetener is awesome! I WISH I could allow myself that in my WOE right now.. I miss fruit and yogurt ~ boo! Anyway, try it with liquid AS so as not to add in extra carbs and you should be golden. Pop in a blender with some ice and YUM YUM! Delicious!

I usually buy Fage at the grocery store...my Publix sells 3 small single serve containers for $5.00....but yesterday, I found a 35.3 oz (over 2 lbs !!!) container for $6.45 at Costco. I was so excited.

I usually add a sprinkle of cinnamon, dash of vanilla & some stevia and eat it. Occasionally I'll add some fresh blueberries or some sugar free jello powder.

Yea, I got my yogurt ready for breakfast tomorrow...added some artificial sweetner and blueberries. It actually tasted better than the other kinds at the store that is loaded with sugar!

Prior to LC I did not like plain yogurt in the least no matter what was done to it. I have been eating it daily for years. LOVE it. I like to add vanilla stevia drops. Sometimes I add ground flax, almonds, walnuts, freeze dried strawberries (nice crunch), or cookies and creme protein powder - (not all at once but maybe two items). I look forward to it. I started out with full fat, now I choose nonfat for lower calories.

Yep, it needs a little something sweet in it - I usually add 1/2 a packet of Splends, a touch of cinnamon, and a drop of home-brewed vanilla extract, along with about 2 tablespoons of finely diced berries. I don't often eat it though.

I hate yogurt but this stuff is great! Buy the vanilla. The ones with fruit in them are gross. I mix in a few almonds or dip strawberries in it. Neither of which are allowed if you are just starting but something to consider for the future. You can also mix in powdered protein in different flavors. I regurlarly use low carb banana and mix in one'ish tablespoon. Makes it creamy like pudding and taste great.

Had my yogurt, delicious. Plain yogurt, Fresh blueberries, a dash of splenda and less than 1/2 the sugar!!!!

I think I'll try a dash of vanilla instead of the splenda tomorrow!

I like fage or carbmaster(Kroger) or Greek Gods with splenda for the greek yogurt and cinnamon and the carbmaster yogurt i just add cinnamon and maybe sometimes I add cinnamon or unsweetened cocoa. When blueberries are in season I love fresh blueberries or strawberries or else I just eat the vanilla.
