Thanks guys, I'm soooooooooooooooo proud of her!!! She doesn't live near me so when I saw her last weekend I just kept hugging her and telling her how SKINNY she is! She said that she's not skinny, pointed at my tiny step-grandma and said "She's Skinny!" So I took a picture of my Mom next to Grandma just to prove to her that she's not that much bigger then Grandma is...... maybe just two sizes difference.
It was her 60th Birthday and 90% of the people at her party knew how much I'd lost and kept asking me about it and saying how good my Mom looked. She kind of had the same reaction when she saw me after I lost the last 120 lbs. She insisted that I looked smaller then I did last time she saw me in the fall, but I haven't really lost more weight just a few inches. So then after the party I showed her the pics and she was shocked that she doesn't look THAT much bigger than Grandma and she just kinda stared at the picture in disbelief. I know that feeling! LOL it's kind of like woah, when did that happen??? Then I looked at the picture of me next to my Mom and she's still smaller and a lot thinner front to back then I am and she's 2-3 sizes smaller (depending on the brand) then me but I'm not all that much bigger then she is..... I got use to being twice her size. But as she pointed out she was 250 lbs at her biggest and I've lost 249 lbs, so I've lost her total weight. She kept saying you lost one of me! She's so cute! ![]()

Thanks, Yes she is on Low Carb. She said that I inspired her to change her lifestyle and get healthy too. She started on just moderately Low Carbs and then she got excited and moved into Atkins down to induction level carbs. But sometimes she has slightly more, but no more then 30 a day really. She has some dietary restrictions so she can't have some veggies, no lettuce, no green, no bacon and she's allergic to cheese....... She has diverticulitis so can't have things with skins or shells so she's more limited.

Thank you! I don't even know where they came from. I found them in my closet with the tags still on them and I'm sure I didn't buy them. Might have been a christmas present from my mama a couple of years ago ![]() |

If peoples pictures have a red x it could be that it was an old link or had been deleted at one time or another from the site they hosted it on. If you have pictures that are no longer showing and want to replace them you can contact cheri and send her your pictures. She has no problem putting them back in for people. I know shes done it before. Here is her email cherilynn8@hotmail.com

Oooh I am so excited to participate!!! I found this site a little while ago and just read allll through all these posts - GREAT JOB everyone!!!! I'll try to post sometime in the next day or so (I'm at work right now)
I'm 5'5" and about 136.2 lbs - I had my DS 9 1/2 months ago and was up to 198 while I was pregnant!! About 157 at my first OB appt (about 5 weeks preg) so I am approx 20 lbs than my pre preg weight! Goal is 120! |

Oh! And my goal is to be at my goal of 120 by my son's first birthday (which is in about 10 weeks!) I have steadily been losing 1 lb/week so I've decided it's time to step it up a notch and aim for 15 lbs in 10 weeks!
135 was my orig goal a long time ago (before I ever committed to losing weight - we're talking a year and a half ago when I was in the 150's) but once I started approaching that goal I realized 135 isn't what I thought it would be. Now I am there and am def not satisfied. Steadily losing 1 lb/week has been great, I'm happy with that esp bc it has been consistent but the fact that I don't look much better than I did in the 150's is pretty discouraging. I honestly think it is bc I am not toned. ESPECIALLY in the belly. I have abs but you can not see them under the belly fat. TECHNICALLY I am at the 'ideal' weight for my height but when you see the photos I will be putting up, you'll probably see why I am kind of disappointed. Thus why I changed my goal to 120. I guess having a baby really does make your body change I may be 20 lbs under my pre-preggo weight, but I def have belly fat that is being stubborn!! I have before and current pics I will put up, according to the measurements I've lost a couple inches. But I'm still not where I want to be!!!! Pictures to come....Oh, and thanks for reading all that. |

Ok, this is an older picture from sometime in the summer, I'd say about July or August - I was prob in the 160's here, and it is before I started working out -
![]() This is from 12/24, I was about 143 lbs - [img'http://i164.photobucket.com/albums/u27/ilovecrl/1297306025.jpg[/img]And here is from 02/01, so about 137 lbs - ![]() And I actually have a BEFORE I was preggo pic somewhere - in a bathing suit - I will find it and upload that too, for comparison purposes. (I can't now though bc the photo is on my phone which is about to die) |

I guess I'll jump into this thread.
The first photo is me at about 187 lbs back in May of 2009. ![]() These next two photos were taken yesterday at about 167 lbs. ![]() ![]() Sorry about the cheesy muscle poses. The last one is deceiving because I'm still sucking in the gut. I still have a lot I want to accomplish, but I'm happy with my results so far. I have a lot more functional strength, I went from having medicated high blood pressure to normal blood pressure, and I have perfect cholesterol and triglyceride levels (if what doctors tell us is really true). Thanks to everybody posting in this thread. There are a lot of very inspirational people on this forum. ETA: I accomplished about 85% of the fat loss and muscle gain with mostly Atkins induction style eating with occasional carb-ups. I eventually went to a specific carb cycling program to add more strength. Most of my workouts have always consisted of compound lifts such as deadlift, bench press, squat, and military press.

Holy crap! What exercise plan are you or were you following during this incredible transformation? I've got 1 kid, but I waited until I was 38 before finally having one so I'm 42 (as of a couple of weeks ago) and I want to live to see my daughter grow up. Your advice is welcome and appreciated. |

Hey Rick,
Nothing wrong with sucking in the gut! It actually helps to strengthen your muscles. Looking good regardless! |
