Both are awful pictures. I have no idea the shadow on my chin that looks so dark. But this is the only pictures I have

I would like to say I am so happy I finally posted on a before/after thread I keep looking at them for motivation and am always finding a reason not to post...
I have been wearing the world's goofiest grin all afternoon reading everyones' comments and want to thank everyone from the bottom of my heart.
To all the other posters of before and afters I think you all look amazing and thank you for posting pics...and to those humming and hawing about doing it I think you should this has been an amazing day!

Pablo- Holy Crap!! Good Job!! Our start and current weights are the same... and my husband wants your abs.
Karen and Julie...I know I have akward stats and measurements...It's why I am thinking of divorcing my scale, it and I do not see eye to eye.
I exercise 6 days a week and DH and I are slowly plugging away at P90x.

Wow... hmmmm... so many smokin' hot bodies (ahem!) I mean... physiques!

Yeah, you're right. I knew from Day 1 what kind of physique I wanted to end up with (health-wise and composition-wise).

My workout regimen consisted of 3 workouts per week, 45 min each.

I had to do this out of necessity for several reasons...

(1) I was out of shape and could not do workouts back-to-back every day. So I had to do them on non-consecutive days. Turned out that it's the best thing to do anyway to allow good recovery and avoid injury.

(2) I have a job that demands 60+ hours a week, and I have 3 children (ages 5, 10, 15) and with all the stuff they're into after school and weekends, realistically, 3 workouts a week is all I could squeeze in at first. I would be "active" every day, but as far as structured "workouts", I kept them to 3 per week. Results were good.

As for what I did in each workout.

* 20 minutes of weight training (resistance training)
* 20 minutes of cardio (not steady state tho)
* 5 minutes cool down (walking)

My weight training was just bodyweight exercises at first. Then I added light dumbbell weights after awhile. Then it progressed from there.

(Btw... it works for ladies too. I've seen some ladies do some GREAT toning and reshaping just by weight training with light 5-10 lb dumbbells. Just saying cuz I know a lot of women are scared to use any weights at all for fear of looking masculine. From the hotties I've seen (ahem!) I mean... from the hotties I've been *told* about, this is not the case.

Before/After photos are so motivating and inspiring.

I totally agree with this! Heavy lifting is what got me in the shape I'm in! I started with 15lbs and worked my way up. If it gets easy, I increase. Now I use 25lb dumbbells for my bicep curls and 45lb dumbbells for my flat bench chest presses. So many women are afraid of weights!!
I hardly ever do any cardio. I keep a strict diet and I train with heavy weights 4 days a week.
