Really struggling...
I have reverse seasonal affective disorder. Every summer I get this and have been for many years. The usual things that help with seasonal affective disorder (getting out in sunlight etc) doesn't really help with reverse. Basically with reverse, you want to hole up in a dark room until October. It's really odd. When fall comes, I feel free. It's cooler, and I am a different person completely. It's unfortunate for my children though that I don't want to do much during summer. I don't do well with heat and sweating, and I just feel tired and blah all summer even though I sleep a ton.
Anyway, it makes me crave high carb/starchy foods. Couple that with the heat and greasiness of low carb cooking, I'm having a hard, hard time. I'm doing well 80% of the time, but last night I caught myself, without even thinking over the pot of the spaghetti, snarfing away. Honestly, it was like I finally scratched an itch I couldn't reach. I caught myself grabbing a bowl and filling it, and then "snapped out of it" dumped it in the trash and the rest of the spaghetti. I had already had my low carb meal. A few days ago, I broke and had some sugared cereal. I will admit, I felt really good after that. I'm trying to be good, and I don't know what I'm saying with this post. Just getting it out I guess. Another thing is I know I'm not eating enough/consistently. Its almost four here now, and I'm just now finishing up three eggs, and that's all I've eaten all day. I'm currently on meds that I am on year round. I don't want to go on more, and my mood is ok. Just a little more tired, a bit more cranky and more of a home body, but my eating is worrying me. Either I don't want to eat at all, or I find myself eating a whole bag of grapes. Low carb isn't really making me as satisfied as it usually does. I did well last summer, but this summer. Man, it's really hard. ![]()

This is my dream. We wanted to move to Washington State when my husband picked orders last time, but nope Sunny Virginia here we are. I hope to move to Portland or around there when he retires. I think it would be perfect for me!
