Back again!
I have been a low carber for over a decade--and have been on and off on the forums several times over the years.
Started Atkins in 1997 weighing 290 and lost 100 pounds over the course of 2 years---yes it took a while for me to lose that much! Then I got sloppy--started stalling and (and cheating) but basically I have stayed within 20 pounds of 190 for a long time. I have also followed a restricted carb diet (although not as strict as Atkins induction while I maintained). I also started exercising again (I am a former competitive figure skater--and skating really burns the calories) and skating again is probably what has helped me keep that weight off. I do feel OK at 190 (able to do things again at least)! But I am still nearly twice as large as I used to be--wow!!! Can you believe that when I competed I ranged from 92 to 96 pounds and I was about 11-12 percent body fat (!) I am very tiny--small bones and under 5 feet tall. I am shooting for about 112---so I want to lose about 78 more pounds. May stop before then if I look great sooner Over the years I have occasionally tried to get back in the diet frame of mind--but just never could force myself to get strict with myself again. The last time I posted on these boards was at least 5 years ago--and at the time I left in a huff vowing to never come back---I kept having fights with "The Kimmer" mainly over exercise and I decided the frustration was not worth it. Came back a few weeks ago and caught up on things (my how they have changed for my old nemesis)!!!! Now I am ready to get going again! |

Thank you!!! I have to say (after lurking and reading for a while) the atmosphere on the boards is so nice and supportive now! I really appreciate that!

Welcome Back Girl! And KUDOS to you for exercising and (essentially) maintaining your loss. Sounds like your ready for another big push to the finish. YOU CAN DO IT.
RE: KIMMER... I used to lurk on these boards back in the day when she was lording her crazy ways all over the ML. I found my way back to LCF and joined as a member after reading the 3FC article on here and finding the "why the fascination with kimmer" threads here on LCF. |

Thanks for the welcome! Today I am cleansing my pantry of the non-induction goodies that have snuck in--will be donating the unopened stuff to the food pantry and giving the opened stuff to family members.
Tomorrow--I start a clean induction! I am really looking forward to it. And lots of exercise for me. It really does help me to feel good. |
