Food INC.

I just got home from seeing the new film Food Inc with my mom (she is a RD.) It was such an eye opeing experence. Its a film that I think all of us (or anyone who eats for that matter) should see, really makes you think about what foods you put in your mouth.

I want to see it but it must not be showing in all cities yet. I just checked here in Tulsa and it is not listed at any of the theaters yet.

I've also been trying to find Fathead-Blockbuster doesn't carry it

I saw Food Inc. last night, the first night it was in the theatre. It changed the way I see the foods in the supermarket, for sure. I will be making a concerted effort to buy organic, to grow as much food as I can, and to be a more conscious consumer.

There's another film called "The World According to Monsanto" that deals with our "fave" multinational food tyrant - I mean conglomerate.

What a bummer! I won't get to see this for years at this point. I'm gonna have to check out the website.

ETA: I saw the trailer and I'm curious for people that are "in the know" about this sort of stuff...how different is the information presented in the movie than other sources? Like Omnivore's Dilema or other Pollan works? Or even like "The Meatrix," those "cute" spoofs about factory farming? Is there lots of new info in the film? Not that it matters one way or the other - I think the information needs to be presented in as MANY mediums as possible to reach the most people, but for my own knowledge I'm curious.
