What about just plain tomato sauce warmed up with a little heavy cream?

Depends which program you are following. The "newer" Atkins is just 20g or less for indiction, right, so you could probably have it. But on Atkins '72, I do not think tomato sauce was on the induction list, and heavy cream was limited to 2-3 ounces per day, I think.

I dont know if I'm even following either lol..I'm eating meat..eggs..cheese limited..salad..no sugar or starches at all...probably closer to the newer atkins.

Then, yes, I would say you could have that recipe. I think 1/2 cup of the GV tomato sauce has 6 carbs, and 1/4 cup heavy cream has about 2, so you would be safe. Not a whole pot of it, of course, but a bowl should be fine.

Oooh, I just had a mug for dinner, and it was yummy.

I made Linda Sue's LC pizza this morning, so had some open left over tomato sauce in the fridge. I did about 1/4 mug water, 1/2 mug tomato sauce, and a big splash of heavy cream. Did not add any seasonings whatsoever, and did not add the splenda. Easy and fast, too!

I made and loved that tomato soup last year several times. Eventually I had to STOP because it became one of those things that I just couldn't control portions on it was SO good.

Here's one that was somewhere online a couple of weeks ago - don't remember where, so can't give anyone credit for it.

CREAM OF TOMATO SOUP

2 ripe tomatoes (seeded and chopped)
1/4 cup water
1/2 tsp crushed garlic (1 clove)
1/4 tsp onion powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp dried basil
Dash of salt/pepper/cayenne (optional)

Blend all ingredients until the mixture is smooth.
Then pour the mixture in a pot and warm it on the stove to the temperature you prefer.
Be creative with your spices, and season the soup to your taste.
Maybe a dash of HWC?

I make the tomato sauce one alot in the winter. You don't have to add so much cream, just a Tbs. will cream it up very nicely.

I found that Hunt's was the lowest carb of the "brand name" ones.

I've been known to simply open a can of diced tomatoes w/ chilis and heat it in the microwave at office. When people ask what it is, I tell them tomato soup!

I agree with just having tomato sauce, or even tomato puree. You can add whatever you want to it.

Cut the carbs by adding chicken broth and simmering it for a bit. Chicken broth picks up the rich tomato flavor. I also make my tomato based sauces for italian dishes 50/50 chicken broth. It's so good that even carb eating people prefer it once they've tried it.
