I make cheese chips out of cheddar cheese. Its not buttery. but it always satisfies my crunchy salty cravings.

I buy the 94% FF Orville R. microwave popcorn. There are only about 3 or so carbs in one cup popped. I LOVE my popcorn and was so happy to discover I didn't have to give it up. Well, chowing down the whole bag I gave up, but one or two cups does it for me now.

Popcorn is my downfall too. I have no control whatsoever once I start eating and can down a few bags just by myself! My favorite way is with melted butter and cheese powder OR chilli powder, black pepper, salt and some lime/lemon juice.

I'm the same way with nuts.

How about some cheese? Or homemade cheese crackers.

A substitute that works for me is broccoli straws mixed with chilli powder, salt, black pepper, with acv and evoo. DELISH, sounds crazy but it satisfies by popcorn craving.

This won't be a popular thought on the matter but...

Do you really NEED it? Or do you just want it?

Need vs. want is a huge difference. Instead of telling us and yourself you "need" X food, why not replace that thought with "My health and my weight loss are worth the small sacrifices I may have to make along my weight loss journey"? Or...something like that.

Just a thought.

Thank you all for the suggestions! I think I might be an addict because sometimes all I can think about is popcorn and a diet coke. I'll try some of your suggestions and see if I can change my thinking also. You guys are the best.

Can a lone popcorn kernel pop in the microwave.

What would happen if you put one or two popcorn kernels on the cheese bit before you nuke it? Would there be a fluffy little puff of popcorn in the middle of the crisp?

I don't have any popcorn or I'd actually see if it worked. I can eat four to eight silver dollar sized cheese crisps. I sometimes sprinkle chopped marcona almonds or pistachios on my crips about half way through just to jazz them up from time to time. I'm not sure why the idea of one popcorn in the center of a cheese crisp seems intriguing to me.

I agree 100%. It's so hard to resist those things we love, but I think that if we can break the habit of giving in to cravings we can begin to rebuild a better relationship with food.

I really dont think there is a sub for Popcorn, it is what it is. I don't miss it at all. I don't fake myself out by trying to sub things, there are simply things I won't eat anymore because they make me feel and look like a whale. Popcorn is one of them. Why make it harder on yourself?

I just had 4 cream cheese stuffed bacon wrapped jalapenos for my lunch

Sunflower seeds in the shell, if the sodium doesn't bother you.

Very few carbs. Eat them one by one. That way they take a whole lot of time and are surprisingly satisfying.

Oh, I've been there! Sometimes the "devil made me do it.." reach for Hagen Das; I've successfully substituted LC ice cream in diet root beer. But... the devil is still around.

Another thought that's worked for DH: oven roasted walnuts with butter, salt, and cayenne pepper. They're actually awesome with a diet coke. Almost zero net carbs and they're delicious, crunchy, salty WARM, like popcorn.

I think I'm going to try the nuts (pecans and walnuts) mixed with salt, butter, and spices. I know I can't over-do them though because nuts are something that I can keep eating and eating and eating. When I make my popcorn I sprinkle dry Italian salad dressing mix and parmasean cheese over it when I add the butter. Maybe if I try doing the same thing with the nuts?

If you're eating nuts...they are most nutritious if they're raw. delicious too!

I think a few cups of organic popcorn once in a while is OK. I take a brown lunchbag and add 1/4 c. of organic popcorn kernels, place one staple at the top to close the bag...lay it side ways with the kernels spread out...then nuke for ...ohhhh...maybe 2.5-3 minutes. I then add my own melted butter or parmesan cheese and sea salt.

Your carbs are best utilized earlier in the day....so just eat it before 4pm and be sure to eat some protein too along with it.

I crave popcorn because I used it allot in the past on other diets. It was one of my staples.

I seem to crave it when I start doing well with my weight loss now on LC. I am pretty sure it's just a mental connection to eating it in the past on old diets with success.

You truly probably need to just stay away from it.

I still eat popcorn. When I go to the movies I really want to have popcorn so I indulge myself. I don't really consider it a cheat, I consider it something I incorporate into my plan. I don't go to the movies all that often, maybe once or twice a month on average
