Raw Egg - unless it is in mayonaise
Shellfish - although I do eat the occasional prawn
Peas
Brussel Sprouts
Cabbage
Squirty cream from the can
Avocado
Mac Nuts
Offal

Also I generally don't like eating visible fat.... the thought of eating pork rinds wants to make me hurl & I can't stomach the US style of bacon.

Please don't remind me that mayo has raw egg in it, you'll break down my carefully constructed walls of denial.

Ditto- although brussels sprouts cooked in bacon fat are quite tasty!

As for me I cannot tolerate:
Green beans (smell is nauseating)
Coconut Oil
EAS shakes

Fish & shellfish. The only thing I can handle once in a very long while is tuna, but it has to be tuna salad (pickles, mayo, onion) and not plain.

Mushrooms

Lettuce

Brussels Sprouts

Cilantro

Most seafood/fish. ESPECIALLY canned tuna and salmon. I can tolerate good fresh salmon but only if it's drenched in teriyaki or spiced up. I am okay with tilapia as long as it's in that lemon cream sauce but it's the sauce I like, not the fish.

I haven't tried, nor will I try egg cream. I would rather have eggs scrambled crunchy with bacon chopped up in it. mmm that's what I'm eating now!

Don't like fruit at all so I skipped that rung.

Don't like spinach unless it's cooked in something like quiche.

Never tried an oopsie, don't like the idea of it. I just don't miss bread that much I guess.

Oh and SOY BEANS! I haven't found a way to prepare them yet that I like and I've tried six different ways, from "refried" with bacon grease to mixed in chili.

The traditional method of cooking vegatables when I was growing up was:

Add salt
Add grease
Boil for one hour, or until inedible, whichever comes last
Serve when stone cold
Add more salt to tast
Talk about how good this country style eating is while everyone (except me) is trying to choke it down

Same goes for meat:

Add salt
Cook until bone dry
Serve when stone cold
Add more salt to taste

There are a few things, like raw eggs, that I won't eat, but my number one argument against any food is about how it is prepared.

One side note: can anyone tell me why iceberg lettuce is such a standard in the US? It has absolutely no taste. I grew up hating salads, then, one day, I learned that you could make them out of all sorts of green, leafy things that weren't iceberg lettuce.

I'm with ya there. In restaurants (I notice it mostly in the midwest) they often have a "wedge" salad. It just a quarter chunk of iceburg lettuce slathered in 1000 Island dressing ... they don't even bother to break it up. I'm always astonished to see the prices on these ... like $6.00 for a wedge of iceburg lettuce and some dressing!

Other "dislikes" are shellfish (never really tried it, never intend to) okra and brussel sprouts.

- Poultry, duck, beef, pork, or game.
- Olives (why are these things in everything? )
- Pickles
- Clams (to be honest...they kind of remind me of little snots in a shell Sorry!)
- Edited to add hardboiled eggs. Blech!

I have no clue- for many people a salad means just iceberg lettuce and a ton of dressing.

OMG - I just read down everyone's list and did not find anything I don't like! Guess I'll eat anything.

Well... someone did mention brain. I can't really say that I don't like it since I've never had it. But I feel fairly certain I would not.

This reminds me of the recent thread about someone chasing a snake around the yard with a frying pan and a stick of butter. NO THANKS!

Oh, speaking of snakes. My cat brought one in the pet door the other day and dropped it on the kitchen floor. And no, I did not get the frying pan out!

I was about to say the same thing. I can't believe all the things people don't like.

I guess you all would make great lunch buddies!
We could go out to lunch and I could eat all the stuff you girls can't stand.

What is it about seafood that so many people dislike?

I could eat it every day...and I do eat it fairly often.

I'm allergic to shellfish, so mostly it's the dying part that turns me off

Finfish...they swim in their own waste, and just about everyone has peed in an ocean, lake, or river at some point. If the taste weren't so gross, the psychological aspect alone would do it in for me.
