I think the thousand island has the sweet relish, and the dill is in the pickle slices that are on the big mac if my memory serves me.

Yes that is right but way back at the beginning of the post some of us mentioned we are making our own version of Thousand Island and someone mentioned they just mix up dill relish, Hellmans and LC Ketchup. I love that mixture so much more than bottled Thousand Island and sure does save on the carbs.

I also add the dill relish to my salad bowl instead of chopping up the dill pickle slices.

Hope that helps

daisy, check in your Super Walmart for LC heinz ketchup if they carry it. You can get it in there for like 2.00 a bottle.

I'm not getting quite that many carbs when I run the recipe through MasterCook. Of course the calories, protein and fat will vary depending on what kind of ground beef you use and how much of the fat you keep with the meat. The counts below are based on the highest fat ground beef with some of the drippings left in. The Thousand Island dressing counts are for the recipe that's on my site.

These counts are for the whole thing as one serving:

Per Serving: 961 Calories; 76g Fat; 57g Protein; 11g Carbohydrate; 2g Dietary Fiber; 9g Net Carbs

If you wanted to cut back on the carbs a bit, how about:

With:
1/2 pound ground beef, 6 ounces after cooking
1/2 cup shredded lettuce
1 teaspoon dry minced onions
5 dill pickle slices
1 slice deluxe American cheese
1 tablespoon thousand island dressing

Per Serving: 667 Calories; 49g Fat; 50g Protein; 4g Carbohydrate; 1g Dietary Fiber; 3g Net Carbs

For me, the counts are a bit higher -- I've been making it just as the original recipe said ('cause I like it gooey and juicy! )

So, two slices of cheese, more onions, more dressing -- my count comes out at about 1,000 calories.

Whopper in a bowl? Whoo! I don't have to go 200 miles for Bk anymore! (not that I do for that purpose alone but sometimes it's the highlight of our trips, lol!!). Man I am set! I still have Big Mac in a bowl often

I tried this last night, and it was great! Big Macs have always been one of my downfall foods, but now I've found the answer. So who's going to come up with a good LC french fry alternative?

Synesthetic is individually carving pieces of cauliflower into french fry shapes . . . are you just about ready with that, hon?

There used to be a recipe floating around for turnip fries. You soak them in cream to get the taste out then bake (or maybe deep fry) them. Its been years since I tried but and can't remember how they worked out. Or sweet potato fries.

I still love this salad! It definately kills cravings and fills you up.

Yummy!

Made this recipe tonight for the family and they LOVED it. Seasoned the beef a little with garlic and pepper and it's amazing how much it really does taste like big macs. Pure genius. If you haven't tried it, it is a definite!

Walden Farms Dressing--I was wondering the same thing! How can it be calorie-free? What IS it? It would seem that the base would have to have calories of some sort.
