Hmm, I'm not getting enough calories!

Here's the menu for today:
B: egg cream. two eggs, about 1/4 cup cream, 2 teaspoons cinnamon, stevia. Black coffee.

Didn't eat snack. When I got home from the gym I had a tablespoon of coconut oil and took 25mg of DHEA (my cortisol is really high and the DHEA seems to help "balance" it.)

L: salad. 1 boiled egg, 4 small slices pepperoni, 2 slices sandwich ham, 1 cup lettuce, 3 tablespoons ranch

Snack: 1 cup eggdrop soup. Homemade with one egg and chicken broth. Also ate a tablespoon of coconut oil

I don't know what to do for dinner. When I put all this into ******, here's the results so far:
carbs: 14.5
protein: 35.6
fat: 70.1
calories: 825

Percentages:
75% fat
18% protein
7% carbs

I need more calories but I don't need much more fat since I'm at 75% right?

Anyone have suggestions for dinner?

well if you eat more calories, your fat percentage will increase or decrease based on the caloric count of whatever it is you eat.

so if you eat another 200 calories of a snack that's fat free for example, your fat % will no longer be at 75%, it'll decrease now and recalculate based on your new total calories of 1025.

regardless, you need to eat something else.

as for what...pick whatever you're in the mood for.

I'd eat a steak.

You percentages look good to me. They'll stay the same if you eat a high fat/moderate protein/low carb dinner.

As long as it's over 400 calories, your day will be fine.

I'm having a hard time eating. I know I need to eat, but I'm just a tad nauseated and nothing sounds good. I've got egg drop soup left over so I'm having a spoon or two of that along and I got some SF peach selzer (selzer always settles my tummy).

So 75% fat isn't too high?

You're probably having a hard time eating/feeling nausea because of the fat levels, imo...

The 75% is fine, but it sounds like you feel uncomfortable with it.

Try incorporating vegetables into your LC WOE. The antioxidants are good for ya!

I think I'll have more veggies than meats and fats for dinner, and see if that helps. I have broccoli, and fresh cauliflower.

Thanks y'all!

I'd add lean animal protein (chicken, turkey, steak) and vegetables. The pepperoni and lunchmeat aren't lean protein, and the lettuce is not a nutrient rich veggie.

Try planning meals around your protein, and do it in advance instead of eating whatever you can get together. I have eggs at breakfast and at least 4oz of lean protein at lunch and dinner.

I didn't feel very hungry at first either, so I concentrated on making what I did eat very high quality.

Thanks Pea. That is a very good idea. I need to think HIGH QUALITY meat and save the lunchmeats for snacks/add ons. I could have grilled a chicken breast quite easily and it would have been a much better choice.

For dinner I finally ended up making eggplant with hamburger, cheese and spaghetti sauce.

I WILL do better tomorrow!

Good for you! It takes a while to get into a groove, so focus on making the best choices you can and they will eventually become second nature.

I always start my meal planning around the protein, then add the vegetables and other carbs (timed around workouts). Things like cheese, peanut butter, and nuts are added in after that.

Not having a plan is like sabotaging myself. I can't just eat whatever is around because I will end up eating not enough or too much.

I was worried about the same thing, although, I fighting for the energy to get a workout in, or even a walk.. SO I didn't know if it was from lack of calories, or my body getting use to no carbs...

VonRok,

I'm having trouble in the gym. It's the ONLY problem I can't live with forever. Everything else I can deal with. I'm hanging in there for the 2 week induction, then I'm going to add sweet potatoes (inatic's and chris's idea) before workouts.

My strength and motivation are low on this WOE
