Its Tuesday, who's working out today

Good morning everyone!
So who's working out today?

I will do my 4 mileson the treadmill after work tonight. 2 miles I will run at 6.0 mph and then walk 2 miles at 4.7 with a 2 deg incline then slow it down to 4.3 with an 8 deg incline. This is great for the butt.

Have a good workout and burn those pounds off.

Not sure yet...I'm at a hotel with DH and when he gets back from his meetings later today, we'll check out the fitness room to see what they have. We do plan on doing some pool time and if nothing else I'll do some water walking and a bit of swimming.

I'll be here tomorrow, too, and I'm hoping that the hotel fitness room has some weights so I can at least do a modified version of my weights workouts. We'll see...

1 hour on the elliptical plus ab work(PT exercises and crunches) with stability ball and hand weights done!

Last week I was 100% pain free so I'm transitioning from the seated elliptical to the regular one. Next stop...the pavement!

I honestly like the seated elliptical more than I thought and will continue using it as cross training even once I'm back to running for my main source of exercise. That will make my sports medicine doctor very happy.

Great job everybody!

Hey all, I'm back from FL. I did exercise all weekend down there, what a pleasure to get out in shorts and a t-shirt :-)

But back in NJ today...it was about 34 degrees this morning, not too bad. I did a 5-mile run on the boardwalk. Felt great

Treadmill finished. Had to fight it all the way this a.m. but finished. Some days seem so easy and yet every now and then it is a real chore.

You all are so inspiring! I am just starting out (again), albeit slowly. I have to admit, I have a lot of starts and stops lately for whatever reasons (no excuses). But I am giving it another go. So for today, I focused on abs, arms and legs. Later today I will go out for a walk, unless it rains, then I will go on the elliptical.

week 3 workout 3 of couch to 5k done.

I should be much further along than this but this is proving to be such a challenge for me.

I am only up to running 3 minutes at a time (then walking 3 minutes etc etc) but boy, I really don't love it so far.

I did week 4 workout 1 a couple of weeks ago...and then got sick...and then got lazy.

Will try week 4 again in a couple of days but I get myself so psyched out about running for 5 minutes that I dread it....sigh...

I know it doesn't seem like much to those of you who can run miles and miles at a time but it's really tough for me. I think it's more the cardio part of it than the legs being tired. Sorry to sound like such a whiner...

...and I'm not giving up yet.

I am one of those who do not like running, but I do it anyway. I don't like any cardio but running is the one I hate the least.
Why do I keep doing it? It's good for me and I feel GREAT when I am done.
Who knows, maybe some day you will like it.

That said, I am home from work early so will go for a run after i do some errands.

Karen, the first mile I run is the absolute hardest thing for me. My body is so resistant to moving "forward" .. I strive so hard just to get through it. Yes, me, the one who has been running for 5 1/2 years. I loathe the first mile!!! The good news is, once I get my body in motion and have that first 5,280 feet behind me, it becomes so enjoyable for me. I get my "tempo" going and, by the time I've gone another couple of miles, I am really into it and enjoying it. I've never understood how the first mile can be the hardest, but it surely is. I know that if I can just keep up that "relentless forward motion" to get beyond it, the rest is easy. And like Ellen said, I feel GREAT afterwards so all that effort is most certainly worth it. And of course I like being a toned, fit and strong woman in her early 50s! That alone keeps me running!

Hang in there! You're doing great!

Betty
