Wow this is a great thread.
Although I am only starting my plan tomorrow, I already don't miss the food I'm accustomed to eating. Look where it got me: Tired, fat, pre-diabetic and looking older than I am. I won't miss not eating the huge amounts of "healthy" whole grain starches, dried fruit and sugars that got me to this stage. And I certainly won't miss not eating fat free salad dressing. I too won't miss not counting points, food exchanges, fat grams, calories, etc. It got me nowhere but where I am today. I am ready for a new change. I am ready for tomorrow. I won't miss any of it. I'm finally moving on. |

Well, I don't miss sugar, bread, potatoes, cookies, cake, rice and other starch!! I got the most God-awful gas and stomach aches, my DH thoght something was terribly wrong with me.
I won't miss being embarrassed to go to the Dr office. I will be glad when i am no longer embarrassed to wear work out clothes at the gym. I don't miss being tired all the time, especially to the point I was late for work everyday, late to everything as a matter of fact. All I wanted to do is sleep!! I don't miss being moody and having wild mood swings as the bad carbs feed my bi-polar disorder in a BAD, BAD way................ Things I do miss though as I haven't always been obese........... I miss being able to go in Macy's, Dillards, Nordstroms, Victoria Secret, etc store and being able to purchas whatever I want, instead being limited to styles that are capable of covering my mass..............

I have not committed to this WOE so I have not enjoyed the benefits of those who have made the important change. I know for sure there are things that I WILL NOt MISS when I decide to make a change.
I will NOt miss people thinking I am a grandmother to my 16 year old son. I will Not miss people assuming I have a lower IQ because I am fat (I have a Master people!!! lol) I will NOT miss my son being torn because he loves me but I know he is embarrassed by my weight. I will not miss laying in bed every night prayng/wondering if tomorrow is the day that I will make it through without failure. I will not miss coming on this board (after two years) and reading about everyone's success and knowing I am simply a wanna-bee. Thanks for this post

I don't miss:
-not being able to breathe at night while sleeping -not being able to buy clothing at cheap stores -staying home from social functions just because I would be the biggest person in the room -not having friends because I was too self conscious to meet new people -having to wait for the handicap stall in the bathroom because I didn't fit in the normal ones -being afraid to participate in fun activities because of how heavy I was -being a slave to food -being hungry all the time -not being able to take a bath without being wedged into the tub like a sardine -not being able to sit in booths at restaraunts without movable tables -lowfat salad dressing, cheese, and other "healthy" foods that taste like crap -needing a special blood pressure cuff at the doctor's office -having hairy legs because shaving was just too difficult Things that I will not miss once I am at goal: -back fat -hanging stomach -people looking at me as if I am less than because of my weight -not being able to run around with my kids -having to sit and rest more often than others -never feeling sexy -having to cross my legs man-style because I can't cross them lady-like -not being able to wear panty hose because, to get them big enough to fit my waist, they look like elephant legs I can really appreciate this thread, because losing the weight that I have has really made a huge difference in my quality of life. I am looking forward to all the changes that will come when the rest of it is gone.

I won't miss the tummy roll when I sit down, and awful back fat.
I will not miss certain articles of clothing being either too small, or fitting ... but just out of the question. Now most things are cut too roomy in the middle for me, but I'll happily take this "problem" & keep on heading to my tailor. I'll not miss being unsure about what I've just eating, or overly circumspect about food. I'll NOT miss exercising an hour a day yet still being heavy while keeping calories under 2,000 and with fat restriction - now it's 20-25 minutes of walking & just minding carbs. I will not miss being my formerly thick-waisted Apple shape - most of my weight went to my torso. Now my 23" (58.5 cm) middle is one of my favorite parts. I'll not miss being hot all the time! |

We're good! I look forward to the day when I have my "I don't miss" list complete. Two years ago I lost over 60lbs on atkins. I was soo proud. Then I gave into the people that would say "come on...just once won't hurt, you can get back on lc monday". 5lbs would creep on here and there... pretty soon I was back to square one. What a loser. Then I got sick and before I knew it, 317 was where I found myself. None of the Dr.'s could find out what was wrong with me and I kept putting off starting atkins until I felt better. After the first of the year, out of desperation I gave up on the dr's and started anyway. I've only lost 13lbs so far, but I am feeling better. I was vomiting practically everyday and I haven't done that for a week! I'm 5' 8.5" and I want to get down to 150, that means more than half my weight. I pray I can do it this time. Taking hubby with me this time, so I'm hopeful for both of us. Weight loss has been slower this time and I think maybe it's because I started out adding too many things too quickly. I'm going back to very low carbs. I can't wait to.... cross my legs, wear real jeans, have a waist, fit into movie seats without feeling poured in... You all understand and thanks for the support! |

Not/Won't miss em
Hmmm..
I won't miss not being able to wear my jeans fresh from the dryer (they shrink ya know ) I'm starting not to miss the the fat hanging over the jeans as I try to button them. I don't miss being tired as much I won't miss wanting to go to the beach and not wanting to remove my shirt. I won't/don't miss the extra pounds! That's for damn sure! I won't miss looking for the baggiest shirt I can find. There are probably more I am sure but you get the point... John |

Now for my addition to this post::: I don't miss skipping my TOM because of my weight gain, when you are trying to get pregnant and your cycle is off you might as well be trying to find a penny on a football field. But things are back to normal now since i've lost a little weight. I have more to go but i'm already noticing changes.

That is so painfully true, nothing like being lucky and blessed enough to be on a vacation with your loved family, and feeling like a whale from the sea, then- to top it all off, you don't want to influence your little girls-(16 & 12) with bad body imagine, With the final blow being unable to take off , bottoms for me. Top wasn't the problem area![]() that's what i call fun in the sun |

I don't miss the way I felt when I ate carbrageous and processed foods.
I don't miss not being able to keep up with my kids. I don't miss not being able to participate in vigorous activities. I don't miss not being able to fit on roller coasters (my passion!!!!) I don't miss my lack of energy and lack of self confidence. I'll stop there and let others have a chance to respond too..... ![]() |

I was looking at suzannenmr's stats - 320 down to 220 or so. I can't seem to break through a 35 lb loss so someone who loses 100 just impresses me to pieces.
