Sugar Free, Starbucks Syrup

OK, I was at Starbucks, (paying to much for a freaken coffee, I know) and ordered 2 pumps of the sugar free cinnamon dolce syrup. On their web site under nutrition facts, everything is listed as zero. But here is my question-help me please- isn't the sf. syrup made with sugar alcohol? Or is it made with liquid splenda? Sugar alcohol and me don't equal weight loss. I am so confused this morning

It's made with liquid sucralose (brand name Splenda).

The carbs in pkts and pourable Splenda are from dextrose and maltodextin added to make them pourable. Liquid sucralose doesn't have this henco no carbs.

My favorite starbucks drink?

A venti sugar free cinnamon dolce latte made with heavy cream. They keep the heavy cream behind the bar, but will make it if you ask. This is very rich and probably has 1000 calories, but if you are challenged to get your enough fat for the day, this will go a long way towards meeting that goal.

I bought a bottle of their sugar-free carmel sauce and use it when making a hot custard. Totally satisfying! It's expensive so it's a treat. A treat at Starbucks for me is their Brevia--a lattle-like drink with steamed heavy cream instead of milk.

Sugar Free Cinnamon Dolce Syrup

I use the Sugar Free Cinnamon Dolce syrup in my yogurt or cottage cheese with a few crushed almonds. It's great on so many things and I've had no problems with it at all.

I can't speak to the Starbucks syrups, but the DaVinci sugar free syrups have 8 carbs in the whole bottle. I would imagine that Torani, Starbucks and others contain about the same amount. Negligible when you consider how many Tbs. are in a bottle.

Thanks honey, I always say to myself, "Why are you paying this much for a DRINK?" But, then I have a sip and it's all a blur. Yummy. Especially at 2 degrees in St. Louis. 20 below wind chll

I just had a venti black sf cinnamon dolce iced coffee and I had convinced myself that I had consumed 12 carbs because a tab of pourable Splenda is 3 carbs! Praise heavens it's not the case!!

You have pulled up an old thread I am a Starbucks barista and can vouch for the sugar free flavors being awesome!! I love the SF cinnamon dulce. It smells so awesome.

Oh, and I agree with the barista above----coffee is way too expensive there! Good thing I work there. I can afford to have it now

It occurred to me to bring this up, since I think I've seen it posted about recently somewhere on the forum... but even though the SF syrups are pretty much safe it seems (like Torani, DaVinci, etc) I've heard that their heavy whipping cream may be sweetened by default? I thought I saw someone say on here that it's 2 carbs per serving as opposed to the usual negligible amount.

I could be wrong, but that's what I remembered seeing here anyway the last time Starbucks came up... if that's the case I think we'd definitely be better off bringing our own shots of HWC with us if we could, or with bringing our drinks home to add it! Unless of course you're someone who can drink coffee without cream

As I said in the other Starbucks thread......not at my Starbucks location. My Starbucks is a licensed store owned by Kroger and we use Kroger milk and cream. We use heavy whipping cream that you buy in the supermarket. So no fillers, sugars added to ours! Just cream in the carton you can buy yourself. Cannot vouch for other Starbucks locations though

Very nice! The Starbucks I'm normally closest to when I'm at home is actually inside of a Kroger store too, so that's really promising... I'll have to ask the next time I'm in there to be sure, but that makes me feel better about it I actually love Kroger's HWC and buy it all the time!

Makes sense that they would take it off their own shelves. Kroger owns the Starbucks kiosks in their stores, Kroger sells their own brand of cream. Why not just use your brand versus Starbucks? Much fresher that way. That is the only non-brand starbucks stuff we have--milk, cream. Oh and sugar. We take Kroger sugar right off the shelf! But that is all. Even our soy milk comes from Starbucks, despite our having it on our shelves.

I love CREAM! I can't have it though, because I think I'm intolerant.
