I take a tbsp about 1/2 hour before. It just gives me that burst so that I can put my best effort into the workout.

My kids and I take it for our allergies. I am glad to know the carbs in it.... I had never thought about it before!

didn't know that till MySharona posted that; very cool; will start taking daily; I could sure use the energy!

Misty, I've been taking it because you had it listed in your Fawn Shake; figured if you were using it; it had to be good for me!

(but assumed it was for allergies as Shelby noted)

how much nutritional yeast is a good dose?

I'm not sure Karla, I guess it would still be good, however it would be very costly to buy that way. Buy 1lb bulk is much cheaper.

IMO, much better to get local bee polen from local health food store than capsules with ingredients gathered from someplace far away from you...

I agree HB11, I buy mine locally from a bee farmer here in Alberta.

I think I better go back to 1tsp a day. I felt like I was stoned all day.

Really? so 1 Tbsp was a bit too much?

Looks like the cal/carb count you posted is for a 1 tsp serving.

PS: what did the NY taste like + how much did you take? TIA!

I was doing 1 Tbsp for a couple of days and felt great but on my third day I felt so buzzzzzzzed.
Yeah, I know ****** was only 1 tsp, therefore I was x it by 3.

Oh my the NY reminded me of a gym locker room (stinky socks).

not sure, but does bee pollen go bad?

I have a jar that's about a year old in the fridge.
I've been scared to touch it since LC'ing?
Wasn't sure of the carb count.

I add some to my oatmeal after heating - not before, though! Tastes nice. I believe it yields 3 total carbs per heaping teaspoon.

I buy local bee pollen at a nearby natural foods store. I use bee pollen for my pinch of carbs in the morning, and to help with allergy troubles.

Bee pollen which is gathered in the area where one lives is highly recommended for help with allergies. The protocol is to start taking it in the fall, just a few grains, and work up to 2-3 tsps., taking it daily. Hopefully, by the time those plants start shedding pollen in the spring, one will have built up immune strength, rather than having too much histamine. (Otherwise, those antihistamines are in goodly supply on the shelf! )

I also found my allergy symptoms lessened after going off grains, legumes, fruits, as well as all processed/refined foods. Just staying off of all sugars, artificial anything and wheat helped tremendously. But, going off the rest of the grains, and the legumes, fruits, and then nuts and seeds, greatly reduced the symptoms. Eating this way means making everything from scratch, rather than buying anything pre-made or in packages. The benefits, for me, definitely outweigh having to make everything one eats.
