You're story was just what I needed today!
I am 5'3" and starting weight was also close to 300lbs. I have a long journey ahead of me, but I try not to think about it since this WOE is for the rest of my life. If you wouldn't mind sharing a few things that kept you motivated on a long journey, I sure would appreciate it. Thank you and you look incredible! ![]() |

Cheri, you are an absolute inspiration, and your updated pics are beautiful.
Please keep us posted with your updates. You are a true inspiration and motivator Cheri. Cheri, I have not gone through all the posts yet. Did you lose all your weight on Atkins or were you on another plan? Thank you for sharing Cheri. |

I mostly did Atkins though there were times I wasn't eating as much as I should. I would of lost a lot faster if I had eaten better all through my dieting. I am slowly losing more weight.. Mostly off of my hips and butt (I seem to lose from the top down) I think most weight plans work as long as you pick one that works for you and one that is the most livable. If you hate your diet then it makes it so much easier to go off of it so pick one that works with your life style and one that doesn't leave you hungry. That is what I like about Atkins.. You don't have to portion control as much as other plans and the variety of foods seem to be a lot better for me. ![]()

Need Help I'm a Newbie
Hi Great job Cheri
I have been low carb-ing with my husband and sister in law for about 6 month now, and we are having some problems with recipes that call for soy. I have thyroid problems and was told now to do soy at all and my husband and sister in law are very allergic to soy, so besides almond flour what is a low carb flour that we can use in our baking. I know so little about healthy foods so any help would be very appreciated ![]() Last edited by Pinky777; 03-16-2009 at 01:51 PM.. |

cherri good to see you here
hey girl, I go way back with you,to about 2001 or 2002. I spent hours reading and learning from your posts. After getting my life in order and losing 79 pounds I abandoned this site. Now I have gained back 50 pounds and I am back online here for encouragement and information. It's great to see you are here!

Hi Pinky..I have a thyroid problem also. Try using coconut flour. It is an amazing alternative to reg flour plus coconut is supposed to be good for hypo thyroid. And no worries if you make something savory, it doesn't have that coconut taste after baking.

Pinky, I'm not much of a baker, but I think you should check out Linda Sue's recipes. You can also check out one of Dana Carpenter's cookbooks.
